Simar therefore, though the eldest and the one who would naturally be expected to be at the forefront of decisions and actions, always chooses to blend into the background and let her siblings be the forerunners. .
Manas Ahuja is Rano's husband
Rishi, who's paired opposite the eldest daughter of the house, Simar.A boy next door, who hails form a normal middle class family, and eventually becomes the back bone to Balraj's family. Balraj feels that Rishi is the only one who can carry forward the responsibilities of his daughters.

Balraaj is the pillar that holds up the house and all the women are largely dependent on him for their interactions with the outside world. The story takes a twist when Balraaj realizes that he has a very little time to live. He realizes the helplessness of the women where is he not around to guide and protect them. It becomes imperative that he gets the girls settled before it is too late. But eventually one day he passes away and the women have to now step out of the house and fend for themselves.
