They were born in an urban village, Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh., His father is a chartered accountant, and his motherRadha Viswanath is a famous journalist and author. He has a younger sister, Supriya Nistala who is married and has a daughter., There is an interesting story behind Raghu and his brothers name. There was a superstitious lady named, Venkata Subamma, in Andhra Pradesh.
