Part 2 :
Mehek heard Mr Malhotra on the phone and wondered whom he was calling here to her Mom's magic. Manners stopped her from popping the question and she just smiled at Mr Malhotra. Shrewd man read her questioning eyes and just nodded at her.
Mehek asked the Malhotras if they were happy with what was presented to them and in return her dishes got a thumbs up from the loving couple as to being very authentic and felt like homely food. Mehek was happy hearing their comments and beamed at her team who by now knew their efforts have paid off and they are very much part of the food contract of Malhotras.
Mehek was still tensed up due to the call and kept thinking who might be coming now. She heard a vehicle make an entry and halting with a jerk as though the fella who was driving was in a hurry to reach his destination. She didn't turn around to see who it was but just waited for the person in question to make his grand entry. She heard him greet the Malhotras in a deep sultry voice and it sounded familiar. Mehek just tilted her head to see who it was and just kept staring upon seeing the person. It was her arch rival the Mr Shaurya Khanna who smirked at her seeing her reaction. Mehek found it difficult to speak and just then she heard Mr Malhotra calling out to her "Miss Mehek, hope you both have met earlier, this is Mr Shaurya Khanna, the renowned hotelier who has recently opened his new restaurant White Chillies."
Mehek just stuttered "Ye, Ye..Yesss.. Mr Malhotra, I know him. " Shaurya was enjoying her confusion and his effect on her. Just said "Miss Sharma.."
Malhotra said "I want to discuss about the menu with both of you as I want the wedding cuisine to be exclusive and homely at the same time. So, I want both of you working together and serve out your best dishes for my son's wedding and want the taste lingering for a long time."
Mehek was shocked hearing Mr Malhotras intention and looked at Shaurya to see his reaction. He just lifted his eyebrows and there a challenge in his eyes which said it all. Do you accept this offer Mehek, can you live up to my standards & can you bear working along with me ??
Mehek could read between the lines and she lifted her chin which gave Shaurya answers to his silent questions that Mehek will never bog down from a challenge and cower from responsibilities.
"Thank u for the faith you have in Mom's magic Mr Malhotra. We accept your offer and assure you to make the cuisine exquisite and the one to be remembered by for a long long time by your families and guests and moreover it'll be a pleasure and honour to work along with Mr Khanna's team and the Chef himself." Shaurya heard these words from Mehek and reacted immediately with his own "Pleasure will all be mine Mehek. Moved forward and extended his hand "Congratulations Mehek and welcome onboard"
Mehek fumed inside "Welcome onboard indeed, huh.. and she couldn't help saying "Why Mr Khanna, welcome onboard Mom's Magic"
Malhotras came to them and said "Thanks for accepting to work together, want our son's marriage to be very special and we want the best in everything on this occasion. Hope you both will make this memorable to one and all with your culinary skills and tasty authentic and exquisite dishes
"Please Mrs Malhotra, we'll treat this as our own family function and do our best, have faith in us and your guests will always remember the platters we serve them, will try to give even a personal touch as per everyone's taste" Mehek said emotionally.
Shaurya too assured them that everything will be the best and they'll have every reason to rejoice and cherish their son's marriage.
Malhotra finally was happy with their commitment and assurance, discussed the others details as number of guests for each function and the delicacies to be included for each of them and bid good bye to the Chef duo to discuss further and to set the momentum for further action.
Shaurya looked at Mehek and said "Shall we get on with the other details now, so that we can start preparations for the event, I always plan everything in advance and there will be no deviations what so ever afterwards." His voice sounded dictorial and irritating to Mehek, "So do I Mr.Khanna" she said in a loud challenging voice.
"We will see Mehek, we both are here, aren't we" said Shaurya in his own taunting mode. They both glared at each other.
PS : Just a short update guys. Paucity of time, as I'm very busy with my work. But being part of the team, thought to put in a short update and it's over to Mishti, Anu and Krishna.😛😉
