Planning to make this post forever, but got too busy to spare time these days. I did mention these in some of the posts before, but wanted to make a separate post on this topic. Wrote a little bit at a time in the past week and finally put it all together.

Shaurya, the Sun & the Mars:
We had many discussions on this forum before about what his name means. It is one of the names of Lord Krishna and his mother is not his biological mother like in Krishna's case, so I thought his character is based on Krishna's story a little. Then with some references of planets recently, it feels like his character and many other important characters are based on the astrological planets and their characteristics. The word Shaurya means related to Surya or Sun. Sun represents Identity, Self, Ego, Pride, Clarity, Creativity, Reason, Logic and Life force. There is a reference to Lion and Bull many times too and they are solar animals. If the Sun is the responsible adult side of Shaurya's personality, the Mars is the more basal and primitive side of him. Mars represents Drive, Desire, Aggression, Impatience and Survival. Mars is all about acting without thinking, by just following the basic instincts.

Mahek, the Moon & the Venus:
Long back someone on the forum wanted to know why Mahek wears a pearl pendant in her chain. Pearl is a representation of Moon. Moon represents Emotions, Feelings, Nurturing, Comfort, Passivity, Intuition, Mystery, Creativity, Sensitivity and Changeability. Moon person has a nurturing nature of a mother, but there is also an inner child with emotional needs and a need to be nurtured. If Moon is the nurturing side of Mahek, Venus is her sensual side. Venus represents Love, Beauty, Pleasure, Harmony, Grace, Values and Sentiments. Venus is about balance and creating peace.

Karuna, the Jupiter:
Jupiter represents Wisdom, Generosity, Morality, Justice, Luck, Faith and Hope.

Kantha, the Saturn:
Saturn represents Authority, Restrictions, Traditions/Conventions, Responsibility, Labor, Perseverance and Karma. May be Dadu and Shaurya's abusive dad also play this role sometimes, of suffocating them emotionally.

The Chachu duo, the Rahu & Ketu (lunar nodes):
Rahu and Ketu are not real entities, but are points in Moon's orbit around the Earth. Solar and lunar eclipses occur when the Moon is close to these nodes on either new moon or full moon days respectively. Rahu and Ketu are severed halves of a serpent, head and tail respectively. Rahu, the head without body, craves all the things that could be enjoyed with a body. It is greedy for materialistic pleasures. Ketu, the tail without head, is done with bodily pleasures and craves spiritual growth. Ketu is about severing past ties and completing the Karma. I think, Mama and Mami play this role in the Khanna house.

P.S. I don't want to categorize PD as a planet, because she is a Goddess.

Such an awesome post

I do know a little about astrology, both western and vedic. I can read charts, not at an expert level but at a good enough level for myself and my family๐Ÿ˜Š. But I had to look up for the right words for describing each planet.

Rekha awesome post!
I loved your comparison of ZKM Characters & planets.

I have started studying a bit of astrology from my father-in law (He is an expert) and you have perfectly compared the characteristics of planets to characters beautifully.

I would say Jeevan Chachu is like Ketu (the more spiritual detached one ) and Ravi Chachu is like Rahu as he is more materialistic

Thank you.

In vedic astrology, Moon rules the fourth house, which is about one's childhood home, mother figure and the issues related to it. Venus rules the second house of riches and self worth. It also rules the seventh house of marriage and partnership.

Sun rules the fifth house of love, romance, children, creativity, power and fun. Mars rules the first house, which is about ego and identity in the world. The other house he rules is the eighth house, which is house of death or I would like to call it house of regeneration. It makes it sound a little positive.

Thanks dhwani!

@bold True. Just like Shani phase, Ketu phase is considered pretty bad. They both dish out Karma. I see them as growth phases. Ketu is about cutting ties. Usually a person loses something/someone he values a lot in the Ketu phase, which pushes them to be more spiritual and detached. Well, thats what the astrology says. I don't want anyone to panic now!๐Ÿ˜†

I think Mehek's Ketu Dasa is over.๐Ÿ˜† She did leave Shaurya after Jeevan Chachu destroyed White Chillies and Shaurya reacted back by destroying the shops. So now that dasa is over.

Its Saturn Mahadasa Dasa (Kanta Chachi) which is going on and seems to be one of the longest dasas I think of 19 years as per astrology. I hope as per ZKM standards it should be over in 19 episodes ๐Ÿ˜†
