You've said it right...! Mehek is the living toy...whom Shaurya was deprived to play with in his childhood...as he's didn't have a normal one due to his double-standard dad...! ! He's living and enjoying all his childhood days now...! He has started living life as a normal human being, his heart has softened, has started laughing, and above all...is happy and blessed and ready take the biggest step of his life...marriage...!
He'll be a great protector and lover...and won't expect the same protection from Mehek...as he believed himself to be unbeatable/invincible...but, will expect the same love from her...!
As for respect...I think what he did yesterday...is the greatest proof that he respect Mehek, and won't let anyone point a finger at her character...! đ
