REAL AND REEL GRANDFATHER
My grandfather is completely opposite to Daadu (Rishi Kapoor). He was a Colonel in the army and he'd wake us up at sharp 7 am! But Daadu in the film is a chilled out, party person. I feel that in our generation, while growing up, in most cases we shared a stressful relationship with our elders. There should be respect, but they should be friends. The similarity between my grandfather and Daadu is that both have honest intentions " to keep the family together.
WHY KAPOOR & SONS?
I took up the film solely because of the script. Not the director or producer or co-actors. I haven't seen Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (director Shakun Batra's earlier film), but this script only took me 45 mins! I just went through it like a hot knife through butter, and I called him said yes. I think this man has made a golden thing.
RAHUL TO FAWAD
Rahul Kapoor has given me the sense of acceptance and tolerance. Rahul has a big heart (I believe I've one, too!), but still there are certain things we keep learning in life. I have learned a lot from this character.

ALIA
REAL AND REEL GRANDFATHER
Actually, my nana is just like Daadu, very young and lively at heart. At 87, he plays golf and since he is an architect, he does sketching. Daadu is like a teenager, party karna hai unko, wants to talk about girls and Googles things on iPad, too!
TIA TO ALIA
She has given me value for family, parents and to have a family around you. There is a line in th''e film which I love: 'You should be happy that tumhari family toh hai.'

SIDHARTH
REAL AND REEL GRANDFATHER
I would have been extremely thrilled if I had grandfather like Daadu, because Rishi Kapoor is mad in the film. At 90, he wants to party and wants to try smoking. My nana is pretty chilled out like Daadu. He told me stories of Pakistan and how they came to India.
ARJUN TO SIDHARTH
I think Arjun showed me how to resolve and confront your parents.
