Khalil ur Rehman Qamar wrote the play with Humayun in mind. When he spoke to Humayun about it, Humayun suggested Hamza's name. KRQ still wasn't satisfied. Till that time Hamza had just done a couple supporting roles in Waar and MHSA, and a small negative role in Bezubaan. So KRQ asked Saba Hameed (who plays Afzal's mom) to pick between Humayun and Hamza and she instantly said, Hamza. And thank God for that!! Hamza totally owned it.

It's ironic how two of the most iconic male characters in Pak drama industry, Afzal Subhanallah and Asher Hussain, were originally offered to different actors - Afzal to Humayun and Asher to Faisal Q. Now you can't even THINK of anyone other than Hamza and Fawad in these characters!

Had Humayun Saeed played Afzal, I would've been the one committing suicide instead of Mehtab 😆

KRQ kay zamanay se Humayun Saeed hi hero chala a raha hai na is liay he wrote the play with him in mind 😆 We ALL owe Saba Hameed for sparing us the torture of seeing an uncle play a love struck boy 🤣

Seriously yaar! I mean I like Faisal but he looks old to play a 25 year old boy 😕 They both are irreplaceable. I can't even imagine Fawad playing Afzal Subhanallah nor can I imagine Hamza playing Asher and those two are my favorite actors 😃 Dosro ko consider karna tou door ki baat hai 😉
