Well to be honest though I have loved few of your shows that have been telecast here. I am pretty disturbed to see that cousin marriages are so prevalent especially between first cousins.
It is not genetically good even in India like Neerja pointed out few communities have this tradition of in family marriages but with times thing have changed and with modernization, education people are coming out of it.
U will not find cousin marriages on Indian television. Infact Kareen and Ranbir Kapoor are first cousins but they will never act together in a film as hero heroine romancing each other and neither will Sonam and Arjun Kapoor who are also first cousins. They are brother/sister.
Another disturbing thing is to see that sex determination seems to be prevalent in Pakistan society as seen in some of your shows where it seems it is allowed to check weather the unborn child is male or female. In India it is considered illegal and we have laws which prevent this kind of tests which encourages female infanticide.
Last but not the least smoking am shocked to see male actors smoking royally on Pakistani shows which is more or less curbed on our tv and u rarely see actors smoke on tv and even in rarest cases u do we have a disclaimer that pops up saying Smoking is injurious to health.
hey do u rememembr the song ciggratte k dhooein ka chala bna k '' i think its an indian song . honestly i dont think that any of ur point is valid beacuse i think indian content also shows ppl smoking . and if we show a scene in which someone is smoking then channel put warning too .
secondly abt cousin marriages if you are watching a content from another country then u have to watch it and let the things go if u dont believe in them . Like i said we muslim dont consider cousins our sisters or brothers cause Quran has not restricted us to marry them . According to medical point of view i agree that it increases the risk of genetic disorders i m a medical student and i know all the diseases that result due to these kind of marriages but its not that u marry ur cousin and u going to have thalasemic major child . it doesnt work that way . anyways u have to respect others beleifs . we are educated too . As an educated memeber of pakistani society i ll follow my cultural values . i will marry someday who i will like . ( ab chahye wo mer cousin hi kio na ho ) only who are from my parents are my only brothrs and sisters . apart from them all other men are na mehram and i can marry any of them.
and 3rdly sex discrimination i dont get it what kind of discrimination as far as i know india has more discrimination than pakistan . abortion rate is too much high there . Pakistan has no such rule becuase there is nothing wrong knowing the gender . people dont usually kill their daughters before they are born . the reason is here abortion is strictly prohibited as it is not allowed in our religion untill or unless mother's health is severly compromised . thats y even if ppl dont want the child they have to bring it to world cause no one will ever do abortion . And india was ranked one in fetocidal killing thats y u ppl have the rule . personally i know alot of doctors dont tell the gender now a days and majority of mothers dont want to knwo cause they want it to b a surprise . any how every society has it s good and bads , Pakistani society too have evil side of it due to bad ppl . i watch indian movies even before marriage sex and all vulgarity disturbs me alot .( dont know but does ur culture allow it ) now u will say me narrowminded . But the truth is there are alot disturbing things happening than the things u pointed out in our dramas . atleast we dont show achohol addicts (alchohol addiction brings medical , behavioural and psycological harm ) than smoking . and i m not justifying that showing smoking is good . but if u justify all vulgarity just in the name of romance and demand of content . then we are justified enough to show everthing which is reality . and we are darng enough to accept the fact too . Whether khirad , kashaf , duree shahwar , our women are role models they are independent and patient .This is how u teaches ur society through good dramas . whch i thing atleast in this field we are doing great .
i dont intend to b rude or offend you . but ur reply was very straight foraward i thought i should be too 😊
