U asked why was she married off to Wali and not some other man right?
Ok so,the thing,according to this Vani custom,when two parties (or families) have had some argument over some issue and assume one of the man in family A had done some harm to some man in family B. The feudal lords would draw a middle ground and for the mistake the man in family A did,the women in this family would bear the punishment,by being married to some men in family B 😕
This is what I read when I went into detail reading about Vani. This is why Mahjabeen (of family A) was married off to Wali ( of the family B).
Now who did the mistake and why was she punished...you'll get to know in the later episodes.
Vani is banned now as far as I know,but like all social evils,in some places,it still happens.
