Something I quickly penned down after watching Friday’s episode.
“Sorry baby. Aaj bhi nahi aa paunga.” Karan said. “Kuch namuno ki wajah se fas gaya hu yaha. I’m really sorry baby. I promise main kal aaunga. I love you so much!” Karan said.
He turned around to come face to face with Monami. She had a funny look on her face. Karan tried to read her expression but failed. It was as if her brain had broken. He had locked Sid and Bala in the jail, so he assumed she had come to talk about them. Karan was determined not to let Sid go this time. No matter how much she pleaded. He would throw her out too if needed.
“Dekhiye Raani Sahiba,-” Karan started.
“Tum phone pe kisse baat kar rahe the?” Monami asked.
Karan was confused. Why was she asking him that? “Tumse matlab?”
“Tumhari koi girlfriend hai?” Monami asked. “Tum shaadi shuda ho kya?”
Karan was sure Monami had completely lost it. He saw a hint of jealousy and rage on her face, and a whole lot of confusion. Why was she feeling this way, he wondered. Was she high on something? Monami took another step towards him and held his hand. Karan was surprised and she began inspecting something.
“Wedding ring toh nahi hai.” Monami said.
“Engaged toh tum bhi ho but no engagement ring.” Karan replied.
“Matlab woh baby tumhari girlfriend thi?”
Karan was amused. So that is why she was jealous. It made no sense that she would be jealous when she herself was engaged. But this was very interesting.
“Meri koi girlfriend nahi hai Rani Sahiba.” He said.
“Toh tum baat kisse kar rahe the?” Monami asked. “Kis baby ko I love you keh rahe the?” She charged him as if he were her boyfriend and she had caught his indiscretion red-handed.
Karan was so amused that he forgot all about Sid and what he’d done. He decided to tease Monami a little bit. “Aapko kya Rani Sahiba? Meri girlfriend ho bhi sakti hai.”
He saw Monami’s expression change. Her face became grim and she seemed sad. Karan felt as if she were about to cry. The last thing he wanted was for her to cry.
“I think tumhe meri girlfriend se milna chahiye. You’ll like her.” Karan smirked mischievously and saw pure unfiltered rage in her eyes.
He video called his baby. Monami turned to leave that instant. Baby picked up on the first ring itself.
“Kya hua chahu?” The voice came from the other side, stopping Monami in her tracks.
“Sorry baby. Tum so toh nahi gayi thi?” Karan asked. “Actually koi hai jo tumse milna chahti hai.”
Monami looked at the phone screen and finally smiled. Karan came beside her and put her on the screen.
“Yeh hai meri baby, meri sabse cute girlfriend Nisha. My niece.” He told Monami who smiled at the girl. “Aur Nisha, yeh hai Dr. Monami Mahajan a.k.a. Raani sahiba.”
“Hi Nisha baby.” Monami said.
“A.k.a tumhari namuni.” Nisha said. “Tumhari wajah se chachu ghar nahi aa rahe mujhse milne?”
Monami gasped. “No no Nisha. Maine koi problem create nahi kiya. Tumhare chachu khud khadoos banke problems create karte hai.”
“Par chachu toh bohot sweet hai.”
“Sweet toh hai par thode se khadoos bhi hai.” Monami said.
“Hawww chachu tum khadoos ho?” Nisha asked.
“Bilkul nahi. Yeh Rani sahiba namuni, nikammi hai.”
Nisha laughed. “Aap bhi kal aa jao phir Rani sahiba chachu ke saath. Hum video games khelenge.”
“Okay Nisha. Agar khadoos Shergill mujhe le jaye toh main zaroor aaungi.”
Karan rolled his eyes. Nisha cut the call after saying goodbye. He was glad to see that Monami was back to normal.
“Nisha kitni cute hai!” Monami smiled.
“Haa ab meri girlfriend hai toh cute toh hogi.” Karan smirked. “Tum batao tumhe itni jealous kyu ho rahi thi?”
“Jealous? Main? Please! Woh toh main bas soch rahi thi ki tum jaise khadoos Shergill ko girlfriend kaise mil gayi. Main uss bechari ko psychiatric evaluation suggest karti as a doctor.”
Karan smiled. “Really Raani sahiba?”
Monami blushed. “Woh main tumhe yeh kehne aayi thi ki please Sid aur Bala ko chod do..”
Karan’s rolled his eyes. This conversation was over. He walked to the jail himself. He had decided to guard them himself this time.
