Dancing for a cause

TNN, Jun 19, 2010, 12.00am IST

A reality show with a social message? Yes, that's right and it's Zara Nachke Dikha which is starting this trend.

Both the Masakali Girls and the Mastkalandar Boys, through their performances this week, are trying to spread a positive message. Sangeeta Ghosh tells the story of a girl, who goes through a lot of trauma and exploitation in today's modern world. The boys also excel in their performance by placing their bets through Siddhesh in the solo round. His act of depicting the struggle of a common man by telling the story of his own struggle draws praise from everyone.Talking about dancing for a purpose, who can forget Sushant's mind numbing performance on the 26/11 terror attacks; it was an act commemorating the current situation of our country which was performed by the boys with passion and emotion. This week watch out for Aamir and Sanjeeda's performance which subtly highlights the emotional trauma the cancer patients and their loved ones go through. All this and more on Zara Nachke Dikha, 9 pm, Saturday and Sunday on Star Plus.

Looking forward to the duet and the solo by Siddhesh. Actually everything really. See, that's what I wanted to see in all duets, romance with a purpose, a sense to it. And by sense, I obviously don't mean a social message or anything. Just something that depicts true love, romance at its best and sincere emotion. So far, only Sushant and Mukti reached it somehow... I hope Aamir and Sanjeeda take it a step ahead.

Siddhesh is always known for his awesome dance. I bet because this is his own story, he'll add an extra flavor and emotion to it and it's no doubt it'll have come out beautiful, by what the article says. Looking forward to see how Sangeeta keeps up with her side of the story, so far she hasn't really impressed me I must say.

If you want to watch dancing for a cause, really watch dancing at its best, I think we should go out on the street and watch the common people. There's devotion there, love for what they're doing, and aspiration and hard work intermingled. Somehow, I just think Siddhesh would try and portray that, since he himself comes from there... :)
