Today Siddesh raised the topic of dancing on the beats and in sync and I was quite happy when Shilpa said that sometimes she or even the other judges judge the performance on the soul of the performance even if the performance is not properly synchronised...

This is an apt statement because it is quite true... I mean we all remember the Mother's Day performance of both the teams...

The boys performed brilliantly however they were not in complete sync during that performance but yet they ended up getting the full points because of the soul in the performance... Now if judges forgot the soul and just concentrated on the synchronisation and beats then I am sure the scores would have been less... Similarly, the girls where completely out of sync and if they were judged on sync they would have scored less than 18 but because there was soul in the performance they scored what they scored...

And I was quite happy when Rashmi reflected on Siddesh slipping during his mother's day performance as soon as Shilpa mentioned about the soul... Because in that performance if sync would have been considered then the boy would have clearer scored less... It was because of the soul that saved the performance...

So what I am trying to say is that the soul matters as much as synchronisation... I mean it is the soul of a performance that helps you to feel connected... For me, if sometimes the sync goes off here and there and the soul of the performance touches me, I'll give that performance a standing ovation... And not criticise it for it sync problems...

What about you all

@TM...i completely agree
i was really happy that Rashmi pointed out that and also, she is right, Siddhesh is a professional dancer, where as all the others were Actors....

also, she's right when she said that for the Takkar round, the guys always send Siddhesh...there are other great performers too but none of them have had a chance to go dance...Kapil is a great dancer, but we never see him perform, the one time we did get to was when girls targetted him

and Shilpa is correct, the soul of the performance sometimes over does the beat and sync in the dance
i loved it when Shilpa cleared that to Siddhesh, and as a professional dancer, he should know better than that...

I agree with Siddhesh for pointing out some flaws in the girls team in general. I don't think he was wrong to ask the judges but I think he didn't know when to stop and it ended up making him look arrogant.

I got what Shilpa was trying to explain but I don't think it came out right.

If a dance is not in sync it loses it's soul too. But because they are judges they have their own likes and dislikes (perceptions of the dance). When you agree to come on a show that has judges you put yourself at the mercy of their perception.

So even if the performance isn't perfect if there is emotion and that x-factor it can win over a technically superior performance that has no feeling.

Even yesterday's Hazel and Angad's dance was less cordinated and looked out of sync..despite that they got score(s) of 8 from the judges Looks like the judges are more focusing on the entertainment value than the technicality 😕

Hmm ...I feel the concept and the overall impact of the whole performance counts when u r watching the show "live". The same thing happened in the first episode of the boys group performance where impact was better than the dance. Actually there was no dance😆 there but still they got perfect scores ....
I m glad rashmi pointed out the Ma performance. It was very brave of siddhesh and it was a salute to him for catching up but if u see technically the performance wasn't perfect as siddhesh lost the sync but still it was ignored as the performance had the soul. So in my opinion overall impact of the performance matters for the audience sitting there than the technicalities.
Siddhesh was wrong in pointing out flaws of girls IMO as that made judges look like fools and was a direct insult to them as if they dont know anything about sync, beats and blah ...his questioning on judges might be right if done subtly but siddhesh's attitude was a bit turn-off.

@ bold - i so agree. I think no one in the opposite team has a right to criticize the other team in a humiliating manner eventhough u r a fab dancer..
Even the gals could have point out the first group performance which scored 10 for less dance.. But im happy that gals team stayed in their limit. 😆
