If sources are to be believed then, Amit has no plans of returning on the sets of Zee's afternoon slot. When we contacted him, he confirmed the news. "Yes, at the moment, I want to concentrate on my singing career. I am releasing an album today - Tanaha...my debut album."
A close source at the production house whispered that things were a little rocky between the tele actor and the production unit. The actor was far too busy pursuing his dreams, and could barely give dates to the production house. So the show decided to pack his character off to the US.
We also hear from the same source, on condition of anonymity that Yasir Shah of Kwaish fame has been narrowed down to essay Amit's role. Yasir of course, remained non committal.
Amit, however denies any friction between the production house. "I did tell the production house that the next one month is going to be very busy with my reality show and the launch of my album. At the end of the day, it is Indian Idol which gave me a platform. I want to pursue my first love and with the launch of my new album, the time lines are going to be crazy. I wanted to do justice to my character. There is no animosity between the unit and me."
Our source, however confirms that Amit would not be coming back into the show. And the unit is scouting around for an actor to fill his shoes.
