Oh Wow Tasha! very nicely put! And you are too sweet!
I agree that in the Lagi Bet section the girls were better by a whole margin rather then just 1 point. I think the point of doing a fusion is to take any song and do a whole different style of dance to it. The main hurdle or dfficult thing to do is to match up to the beat of the song with the different style dance. This is something that the girls did really well on. The boys, on the other hand, didn't keep that in mind. They were into the song and were going on beat, but their classical wasn't going on beat. Dancing to the rhythm doesn't mean dancing fast. The thing is that if I remember correctly Bakhtiyaar has done a classical dance type of thing before in Nach Baliye, but here he didn't live up to his dancing standards.
See the thing about the whole strength issue is a little debatable. I think any good dancer can do any form of dance be it classical, bhangra, hip-hop, or even ballet. I would like to bring up Vidya Balan (especially since the song she danced to has become my all time favorite). In Bhool Bhuliya she danced to Mere Dholna Sun. Firstly we all know she is a non-dancer, but wow did she pull off those bharatnatayam steps. Amazing. And that was NOT her strength. So I just think being such a great dancer it was a little shady on Bakhtiyar's part to make an excuse.
Another thing was that Malika's statement on the girls dance being more sensual....ummm seriously I don't think that was the right word to use, because the girls weren't sensual, instead they were expressive and deeply involved with the song. Both girls felt the lyrics of both the male and female. And their feelings were displayed on their face and that's what made their dance even more better!
I think Mouni and Karishma were simply brilliant!
The Khallas round...okay firstly the act for Amit was just so he could show off that he is also a singer...it just dragged the act on. I liked the leg move he did and also liked how he used a lot of props. He did the stick movement really well. A few things that were missing were his expressions and lack of dance steps. There was a lot of pointing and walking kind of thing and seriously I think he could've danced more.
Ash was great, but her steps weren't clean. Still I think she was much better than Amit, who looked a little bit too over-confident. Ash used the stage well, and man was she energetic. For bhangra the main thing is to feel the beat! The beat has to be running through your blood right from the start and that's the only way a person can perform to bhangra. Ash felt the dhol beats in her and that's why she was dayum energetic. She was more than smiling she was exhuberating her happiness and her love for bhangra. As for her dance her steps were grrrreat! So much better from the typical bhangra steps we see in some shows *cough*! At times she was fast and then slow it was just really nice choreography. I DOUBT Star One keeps the same choreographer for every show. 😆
Anyway the steps were great, but they weren't clean. They ended up being a little sloppy at times, so you couldn't see what step she actually did. Compared to the boys the girls did do better this time and I think Boys should admit that and take it sportingly. Yesterday the boys were better in their group performance, and this time the girls ruled the floor.
Sorry once I start talking about dance I never tend to stop! hehe
Lovely take on the episode Tasha!! 🤗I really like this show!
