The zesty actor, who rose to fame with Zee TV's Tashan-e-Ishq, made his comeback with Yeh Vaada Raha opposite Sonal Vengulekar post the leap.

It's just been over a month since he entered the show, and the sorrowful news of the serial going off air has hurt him hard.

As we reported earlier, due to low ratings, Yeh Vaada Raha will shut shop on 20 January 2017 and upcoming daily Woh Apna Sa will take its place.

When we contacted Zain to know his reaction on the show's closure, he said, "It wasn't shocking to me as the association was only for a month. In fact Tashan-e-Ishqclosure news was more shocking to me than Yeh Vaada Raha going off air. It is unfortunate that Yeh Vaada Rahawill end even before I could connect with the audience."

So why didn't the show manage to garner numbers, to which he replied, "I think it wasn't promoted well after the show took a leap. There were no promos and buzz about the serial."

We asked him if he regrets being part of the project, and he shared, "I never regret being part of any TV show."

Well, Zain we would just like to say, hope you have a

He was too good for the show. The show had horrible writing after a point in time. The twists and turns were redundant and the writers never gave us what they promised from the beginning. The only good thing about the show was SonKush/KarVi (their onscreen chemistry seemed so natural and kept pulling me in, having me lost in their scenes despite the poor/rushed story arcs), Taayi-Pyaare comedy and KarShi (old) and the old and new Kartik.

I started watching this show hoping to see the growth in KarVi and how they overcame the issues within, including the age difference between the characters and how a promise kept these two together despite life taking them in different directions with differing personalities and a significant age of 10 years. The rushed story lines was a sore along with the sudden and unexplained departure of so many integral characters, and post the 15 year leap they made it worse by not knowing where to take the story and investing too much in the materialistic aspect of the pairing rather than diving deep into their emotions and separate lives. A lack of promotion of the show was a problem from the start too.

The direction, cinematography and acting was good, but the failing in the writing and the inability to go with what was originally planned was a huge let down. This show introduced me to a lot of great artists and provided me one of the best most natural and entertaining father/daughter duo of KarShi (played by Ankush and Harbandana)- I had more hope, but was disappointed in the end. I appreciate this show for introducing me to some great actors such as Rinku, Ankush, Sonal, the new Kartik and Harbandana.

We are in a very new point in time, where viewers of all ages want better content, consistency in character development and story arcs, and promising talents. I understand ships of pairings exist and huge fan followings are formed, but that is only the icing on the cake and should never be the entire product itself- unless planned and promoted from the very beginning (such as KarVi's relationship- although we were not investing in a romance between the two characters from the start, rather it was their friendship and the natural progression of their relationship). 😉

I wish all of those involved in this project do well in the future and go on to be a part of some trend-setting projects that captures the richness and diversity of the culture they aim to portray 👍🏼
