I haven't watched YVR since a long time & I wasn't planning to come back here but I felt I should say a goodbye to YVR.
I have a few complaints bc I think they really messed up in the second season. I'm sorry to say but these days all Indian serials mess up when they change the main characters & story but I had expected better from YVR CVs because they gave us something like Bolti Gudiya track, Durga Rani track, Post Khushi's birth track. They gave us a fearless character like Survi, a passionate character like Kartik & some really good evil characters like Tai & Pyaare.

1) Firstly, I'm so angry at what they did with Kartik's character. Completely sidelined him like he was a supporting character from the start. During Survi's death scene more emphasis was given to SuShi's relationship then Karvi's. I mean i know a child-mother's relation is also a big thing & Khushi was being promoted to the main lead but still! Kartik was the main hero. I absolutely hate how male leads are treated in Indian shows tbh. Also after the leap I hoped they would show Kartik's flashbacks in Barve Mansion but they showed Khushi's instead. Khushi was there for a year or two.. but Kartik was there for his life! He had gone through much more in that house! I think the current plot would've worked even if they had made Kartik sane again. So much of Karvi & in the end Kartik not remembering any of it was a bit of a blow to me. I'm sorry but Kartik's character was very close to my heart & I'm really annoyed đŸ€Ź.

2) Secondly, Khushi was supposed to be like Kartik but they turned her into Survi 2.0 because she's now the FL. I don't think just because someone's parent dies, they become like them. I don't why our shows want to show us those mahaan female leads instead of trying something different. Also Survi was great but Khushi isn't appealing at all with that personality. I expected her to be a happ-go-lucky, cheerful prankster who likes spreading Happiness since a part of her own was taken by Tai kinda like Kartik who used to keep smiling & made others laugh even though he was hurting inside but felt I was just seeing another of Choti Survi-Srikant while watching KarShi. In fact it would've been fun if Khushi was like Kartik & the male lead was a responsible & mature guy who taught her not to block sad moments & fight them but that's too much to expect from Indian serials because the female lead is the only hero & can never be wrong 😡.

3) YVR started with a beautiful story shown from the childhood to adulthood & Karvi's relationship was so beautiful. But season 2 is just another cliched story of rich problematic boy & a middle class responsible girl who get into conflict due to the guy's reckless behaviour đŸ‘ŽđŸŒ. I'm honestly a huge fan of these types of rom-coms but I was expecting something more mature in YVR. I kinda wish they showed some of Harbandana-Ankush post Survi's death living their life in chawl (obviously some different story than gangsters being involved)... And maybe some of Abeer's early story like they showed for both Karvi. I don't know what is going on right now but in a wu I read from last week, I heard they were kidnapped &a being forced to marry someone or each other & it seems like a humorous situation to me. YVR wasn't like this 😕. Comedy was present but it wasn't a rom com. Isn't it way too soon for the leads to get married? This story is even more fast paced than Karvi's. IDK what's with the obsession of every Indian show with love &a marriage. Instead they could've shown Khushi fullfiling her vaada & the show could've focused on KarShi's relationship even with Khushi being married or getting a boyfriend (seriously, why are there no boyfriends? Seedhe hi marriage 😃). Why the heck is marriage & love so important? It's like Indian serials can't think of anything else besides a mahaan female lead & her marriage!! Whatever the theme of show is.. why does it have to revolve around a woman & why does she get married before everything?! They've ruined both KarShi & Khushi! . Also what about Khushi's siblings? I mean are they supposed to be dead to now or what? They could actually bring in the two kids to tie in the storyline because it doesn't seem like this new story is a continuation of old KarShi's story.

4) Also, I don't get it.. Are they done with Tai? I mean it's good that she's dead because that's realistic but that was it? She killed Survi & was sent to jail while laughing? In start she was so much passionate about all this but there was no good end to it? They should've shown her celebrating in Jail, telling her husband she won but instead offscreen she sold Barve mansion which isn't supposed to be legally possible. It was a very weird ending plus I'm suprised they showed evil winning in the end because Survi died fighting Tai 😕.

Thanks everyone who welcomed me here.. It was really fun! Really hope I can come back soon!
I really wanted to see YVR with Zain in it but I just can't. The story doesn't seem appealing at all. YVR has lost it's charm. I know they're not supposed to repeat the tracks but atleast the air should be of the old season. Also, I was missing Ankush way too much on the show. So It's a bye bye to this forum because I'm really done with Indian TV serials. ❀

P.S: It's just my opinion don't get too angry & think before adding any rude comments. Even if you don't agree pls try to state your opinion in a nice way 😊.

Can understand your frustration Aashka
All this years of watching Desi shows,I had a feeling Kartik's character, now that he is a parent of the lead would be relegated to the sidelines, let alone be the hero of the show that he was.And also they wouldn't focus much on Karshi is what became clear when they roped in Zain as the lead. That clearly spelt their intent to bank on the lead pair's chemistry

About this line of yours " I absolutely hate how male leads are treated in Indian shows tbh " ,it really is a sad development. It is very rarely that we come across characters that are relateable, multidimensional which makes them truly iconic.Rather most of the heroes serve the purpose of romancing the female lead who is the actual protagonist of the show with little room for character development.Unlike many English TV shows,I have watched where I got to see some iconic male heroes,Indian TV is more dominated by women.
How I would wish to see characters like a " Gregory House " ," Patrick Jane " ," Harvey Specter " ," Dexter "
And that's the thing about YVR that I liked.Kartik was unlike any other hero I had seen on Indian TV.For a change,he was the protagonist of the show.Like Luxmi mentioned,it was Kartik who brought everything together. And the way the makers shaped up Kartik's character, with every development in the show, for me Kartik continued to grow more iconic.I could relate to him more,I saw in him a hero more human than any other & especially after the 7 year leap, his character assumed even more dimensions making him truly iconic
It's sad to see Kartik's character been reduced to this. But then like you said,in my own imaginary world,Karvishi are alive & together.Yeah that's my happy place 😆😳
This phase 2 of YVR,this is a completely different show & I don't know what it is.Don't recognise it anymore

Sad to see,Khushi's character turning out this way.Probably that's why the SBS segment wherein they mentioned about massive changes being made to Khushi's character, completely different from what they had planned on before & that Sonal was not happy about it

Also agree on Tai & the kids but YVR always had this problem of making characters disappear.
With Survi dying,Tai finally got what she wanted. So she must be at peace, finally but still they could have done with one more episode,if not more to giving a proper closure to Tai,considering how important she was to the story

The makers kept making mistakes, each one graver than the previous one & ultimately we have a show devoid of all life. It's extremely sad

It was nice talking to you here too Aashka.Really had lots of fun here.😊
