I just want to echo and support many of the previous comments made by eveyone regarding the new leap. So much of potential was lost due to the rushed tracks and repetitive evil plans which has brought us to this sad end.
The YVR storyline has been one of the reasons that I started to watch Indian serials again, the other being the talented lead pair. They portrayed and owned their characters so well especially the main male lead that you cannot image anyone else in the role. I wish him all the best as his talent and dedication will definitely lead him to better things.
The new leap seems to have forgotten the main premise of YVR and that is the lovestory of Kartik and Survi. The leap does not have the same interesting premise so don't think I will want to watch. Also while the lead actress is just as talented I was not really engaged with her character without that of Kartik. So even with her as Khushi it does not have any appeal to continue watching YVR2.
So good bye and wish everyone well. It has been a really interesting and thought provoking experience on this forum. Hopefully there will be another interesting serial that was as engaging as YVR, so until then, adieu.

You wrote everything so well, that I really have nothing more to add. It's like you read my mind.
But then I can't help but share a bit about my experience,my feelings about the show, about the cast, about the forum, pretty much about everything
So here I go

It's been one hell of a year though.Started watching the show right from the day it aired. The 3rd promo of the show is what got me hooked.Earlier in the 2 previous promos,I took a liking to Kartik who came across as someone fun to be with, someone full of lfe, someone happy, with loads of positive energy & I liked how they hinted at a strong bond between Kartik & Survi's father. The way Kartik tried to hide the gun away from Survi's father, knowing he is doing something Shrikant is not gonna approve & the way Shrikant tries to chide him for not mending his ways,I found all of it really beautiful. That a neighbour loved & had such faith in Kartik's potential,in the man he believed he would grow up to be & how Kartik had such immense respect for Shrikant & did listen to his words made me like them & made me want to watch more of them once the show airs.BUt then like I mentioned before,it was the 3rd promo, that really made me sit up.Before it aired,I was curious what the " Vaada " is all about & how they are gonna integrate it into the story. The 3rd promo laid it all bare, they introduced us to the Vaada, that was gonna hold the centrestage in the entire story. They showed Tai's husband killed by some unknown assailants & somehow Tai holding Shrikant responsible for her husband's death & baying for his blood. They then show Kartik, all scared runs upto shrikant, tells him everything, helps him escape & then makes one promise of a lifetime,a promise that will change his & Survi's life forever,a promise that will bind him to Survi for life. The promo did all it was supposed to do.It made me sit up,upped my curiosity to whole new level as to how a mere 19 year old is gonna save the little girl from the ruthless Tai.The veru thing about Kartik not hesitating to go against his own family member to keep his promise,to save Survi,to do what is right is what I found way too beautiful

A few episodes into the show & we had another Vaada & it got me more interested in the show. That Kartik made 2 promises,he intended to honour at any cost but then he couldn't possibly be able to honour both, somewhere down the line, one has to be violated to keep the other.I was dying to know how Kartik would walk that fine line, strike that delicate balance between the 2 promises he made to the 2 persons he had immense respect for & how he would be able to handle the strain of it all

More into the show & I started loving Kartik even more & more as they started peeling off more layers to show us the real Kartik.Loveable at first glance with his carefree, take it easy & chirpy attitude, the real Kartik won me over as the story progressed. He impressed with the way he took on the responsibility of having to look after sucha big family as the sole earner about how he loved & cared for Tai's family more than his own. They showed a little more mature Kartik after the initial 4 year leap when we got to see a 24 year old. They showed the neglect he inflicted on his own health & body to take care of his family, about how he kept skipping his meals to squeeze in some extra hours of work so that he can provide for a comfortable life for his family & what made me like him more was how he did it with the biggest smile on his face, that he did not regret any of it as long as his family is happy, that it was all worth it in the end
A strong character with a mind of his own,Kartik Barve always listened to his heart, did what he felt was the right thing to do,didn't hesitate to go against his revered Tai when the need be.I still remember the scene when faced with the tough choice of having to let survi stay with her,tai gathers her kids around her & warns them about how kartik would try to win them over to make things easy for him, when he would go on to request tai to let survi stay with them.To which Little aniket tells Tai about how all these years of living together & she still failed to know the real kartik. That his kartik Bhai isn't one of those who would resort to requesting or pleading, rather kartik Bhai has & will keep doing what he feels is the right thing to do.Thats Kartik barve for us,fearless, confident & ready to face the consequences of his actions
Yes,Kartik was emotional & vulnerable but then that's what made him more human & made me relate to him more than I could ever do with Survi. His imperfections, his flaws were what made him more beautiful & so for me Kartik will always be an iconic character brought to life on screen by an equally iconic actor. And so I agree,Kartik was a loveable character but the it's Ankush who made us love Kartik even more

Karvi's bond too is what drew me in.Into the first episode & looks like both are worlds apart in not just who they are,but also in how they look at the world as well.So different, yet somehow God is gonna bring them together & how is he gonna make that happen is what made me keep watching the show.1st episode made it look like Survi did not approve of Kartik's ways, gets easily irritated with his antics & feels he is a bad influence.ON the other hand, easy going Kartik finds way too mature for her age Survi's behaviour annoying. The interactions were funny & seeing as how Kartik always tried to tease, make fun of Survi much to her annoyance,I couln't help but feel Kartik did like the girl.
Kartik makes the promise to Shrikant & brings Survi home & like you said the way a little, innocent Survi starts to develop feelings for Kartik was just too beautiful. Before,he was just a neighbour, now that she got to live with him,got to know him up close, she gets to know the real him,the real Kartik who is loyal, self less, self sacrificing & with every passing day Survi finds herself in love with Kartik more & more.In one important scene with Shanti,Survi talks about how one shouldn't base an opinion about someone without getting to know him/her.That you get to see their real self when you get to know them. She was obviously talking about Kartik & I loved it.That scene set the stage for SUrvi to start falling in love with Kartik

I won't talk about Karvi scenes anymore cause that would take up much more time & space & more of it in another discussion post, maybe

BUt like you said Karvi had a history & their love story took it's own time to progress & I agree we don't come across such love stories more often.

Loved everything about the show.Even with it's own over dramatization,it had it's moments.I liked how tha casting director made a great ensemble with everyone being a perfect fit for their respective roles.

I loved the lighter moments in the show like with Raghu & Tai & Pyaare.

I loved how Tai wasn;t just evil for the sake of being evil, rather felt Kartik didn't keep his promise to her & neglected her family & so she felt cheated & was compelled to conspire

And I loved the Lata's apprehensions about Kartik's future in the initial episodes

I loved the subtle hints they kept showing about Karvi being meant for each other

I never expected anything from the show, cause expectations would bring with them, their fair share of disappointments. So I watched YVR & enjoyed everything they had to show. The natural progression of Karvi, childhood friends turning lovers, getting married, trying to work it out despite their differences & most of all Karshi/Khushi,the best thing that could happen to a couple,to taking the story forward.I loved it all

The only thing that I expected was to see a happily ever after Karvishi in the end.Was it too much to expect.Well won't dwell on that anymore after having been able to compose myself after one whole day of total misery ever since the news of the leap came out.

Won't want to end my feelings on such a sad note So yeah I loved Karvi story & I loved Kartik & I loved Ankush as Kartik.
YOu already said everything I wanted to about Ankush's acting prowess.Won't say anything else.He is just one of the most natural actors I have ever come across.Every single member of my family agrees how good he is.Like I said before I consider myself lucky for having got the oppportunity to see him & enjoy his performances.May he keep growing & keep getting better as a person & as an actor.

Thank you once again for this post of yours.IT has been lovely one year of watching YVR.It had been my daily staple for me & my mom for a year.I had a great time on this forum talking with everyone, discussing every bit of the show, made some really nice friends.Sadly a lot many people left quite early & couldn't get to see Karshi/Karvishi.Still the ones we had,I loved talking to everyone here, sharing my views, listening to theirs.Am gonna cherish it forever.A big thank you to everyone

Zee TV is really going through a rough time with their series... the main lead of one of their leading shows (ETRETR) quit the show, which is likely going to impact the TRP, and now with the loss of Ankush in YVR, and an entire new story line... they are really taking a gamble here...
The chemistry between Ankush/Harbandana worked well resulting in KarShi being received so well... The YVR team is taking a major chance in seeing if Sonal and whoever is cast as Kartik will share the same chemistry (I highly doubt it can ever be matched- which means the story has to be really really good for the audience to really feel that connection)...

After I read your post Gopa, I began to think about the previous leaps that took place after Survi grew up, and I can't help but think that many were unnecessary... the audience were tired of Taayees evil scheming at this point, because of how disconnected she became to the audience... in the writers attempt to make Survi super woman and the saint, Taayee lost out on her connection to family... If only they had given room for Tayee to actually care for Kartik instead of celebrate in his bad times, and only hate Survi for what she believed Srikanth did to her husband...there would have been so much room for KarVi growth... The writers chose to concentrate on the TRPs for the immediate week or two, and let go of a story that they worked hard on developing in the start... It is really unfortunate... many people are losing out on this new development...

KarShi was amazing onscreen, SuShi was good too, but not as good... I just couldn't connect... I am not sure if it was just me, or it was the writing and the writer's lack of ability to capture the mother/daughter relationship like they did the father/daughter relationship...

KarShi looked amazing on screen coz Ankush put in that extra effort to create magic with Harbandana... Effort nai.. Let me put it this way.. He put in his heart & soul that made KarShi's bond look beautiful on screen... This new version of KarShi 🤢🤢🤢 is never gonna match up to our original KarShi... I mean never ever ever ever...

What started off as Kartik Barve's story is sadly gonna become woman centric... I mean don't we have enough such shows already.. the same run of the mill crap... Very rarely do we get to see such strong male leads... Most others are just like that Abhi from KKB, total timepass (just my opinion, no hard feelings anyone)... N the makers are simply ruthless having reduced such a strong character to zilch... I dunno why.. But shows having strong male leads are the ones I have enjoyed watching the most... YVR being one of them..

I'm gonna miss everyone... even Amit, Jinal, Rashmi, Gaurav, Harbandana for that matter.. Whatever limited role they had, they were all very good.. I watched yesterday's episode.. Kartik-Hema's sequence... KarShi-Pyaare's sequence... N only one Q popped up in my mind... Like are the makers really serious about replacing these guys?? Like really??????

N even if they are being replaced, they all did deserve a fitting farewell... For all the hard work & efforts put in by them in last one year... But sadly I guess, even that wasn't to be...

One last post:
I think Sonal is a lovely actress who has the capabilities to act out any character, and i truly believe she will do justice to bringing grown-up kushi to life and enacting the role of a caring daughter of a father she considers not only as her papa, but friend and child too.

It was Survi that I could not connect with, due to her character being reduced to that of an unattainable "super woman persona"- something younger female audience members have difficulty connecting to.

I have been asking the writers for a while to give Sonal the opportunity to prove her acting abilities by giving her character more layers and i really hope that she gets it when playing kushi due to the character being a combination of survi and kartik... I just hope that they do not forget the premise of yvr2 will be about KarShi and not end up concentrating more on kushi's love story. I want to see Kushi make mistakes, but get back up and figure things out... The writers really need to work towards giving kushi the opportunity to have a character with layers like kartik had... Sonal slayed as Durga Rani and so I do believe she can do this. I just truly wish trps do not get in the way. I also want to see Tayi finally show some form of regret, and maternal instincts towards Kartik's character...

The trps have already ruined YVR1 and the beautiful KarVi love story.

Once again, Ankush is truly a fabulous actor who had a lovely character etched out that he brought to life with a passion that showed on our screens and touched our hearts- he will be greatly missed. I do believe this exit is good for him. He deserves an even bigger and better project where he can move forward and gain more recognition, and so i would not want to hold him back. I wish him all the best, and will continue to follow his future projects. I hope he continues to learn new things and build a strong foundation within the industry, while staying out of unnecessary drama/gossip 😊 Will only be wishing the best of the best little bro!!!😃

Sonal too is a fabulous actress, who is deserving of more opotunities to showcase her acting talent. I am sure she will win over many more hearts and grow even more as an actor... I want her to succeed and progress in her career and continue to inspire others. I also hope the casting director finds a suitable actor to fill Ankush's shoes to give viewers a beautiful KarShi that have taken a special place in our hearts.

I am still and will always be disappointed in the demise of KarVi, and so will not be able to continue with YVR especially with the exit of Ankush 😭

If you have time, please do watch yvr2 and support Sonal. She is a talented actor with a beautiful soul, who only deserves the best of the best as do all of the YVR cast members we have grown to love.

Zee is taking a beating left, right & centre,so much so,it has fallen behind Sony even. It's not bringing in any new shows & the old ones are being revamped leaving the old viewers in a bad taste

I completely agree it was Ankush & Harbandana's chemistry that made Karshi more beautiful & it was not just you, even I couldn't connect to Sushi the way I could to Karshi.

Also agree they overdid it with Tai & her conspiracies
After Kartik handed over all his property to Tai before start of Meher track,it looked like Tai issue is resolved once & for all.Tai got the money she wanted & looked like she didn't want to kill Survi anymore for what Shrikant did years ago.
But then it looked like Meher track bombed & so they decided to bring Tai back, letting her take over as the main antagonist again cause it worked so well in the past

Yes it's sad how TRPs determine the course of storylines & fates of shows & the channels don't consider the heartbreak they cause to audiences who get emotionally attached to a show & it's characters which is distressing

I totally agree with you, When I first become hooked onto watching YVR, I wondered what it was that kept my attention and realised that YVR was different, The male and female leads were both important to the storyline. In a long time in a serial there was a strong male lead with a well developed and layered characterisation. He was charismatic (not seen in many Indian serials as it is often mistakenly portrayed as arrogance), intelligent, strong and loving but also innocent, energetic and a depth of caring that seemed naive but was not. His naivety and insistence on believing in the good of people especially his Tai, was so well balanced that it did not detracted from the whole character. Rather his family wanted to protect that innocence rather than expose the reality. He became so relatable even after the second leap when he was portrayed as an arrogant male lead. You could still see the love and kindness come through despite the macho avatar he was portraying.

He was always concerned about his family, he did everything for them, good and bad decisions, making him human with an attractive and interesting personality. I have not seen such a well written male lead and one that was enacted so well also that you got to understand all the facets and nuances of the character andkept rooting for him to succeed against Tai and win happiness with his family. He was in no way one dimensional at anytime and that was the beauty of the character which was refreshing when compared to the typical "time pass" male leads.

While the female lead was also strongly portrayed which was again different from the TSTL Indian female leads, but just when you thought the writers got the balance right, they then made her into superwomen with a major side order of James bond and Sherlock Holmes that you could no longer connect with her. While we all love a strong and intelligent women, an overdose was uncalled for, and led to the audience disconnecting because of the predictability of her saving the day. Even currently, with her being badly injured it still has to be Survi that has to traipse around to solve this crime instead of leaving it to Aniket and Kishore. it just never ends so much so that I'm not interested in seeing Khushi grown up and watch the next generation Survi in the form of Khushi as crime fighting daughter against Tai which is inevitable as Tai killed her mother and caused her father's mental disability. So basically as repetition of the current YVR, just phase two.

Besides it was the Kartik and Survi love story that made YVR so interesting. There was a touch of destiny mixed with two different personalities filled with innocence and strength that understood the importance of love and fought all the odds for it. This cannot be replicated in YVR2.

What I really would have like to have seen is a new YVR storyline with the same Kartik and Survi. No next generation, something along the lines of a Choti Bahu 2 serial that I was last interested in.

But I guess all good things do come to an end.

It really is unfortunate...
There was a scene, closer to the beginning of Sonal's entrance in which Survi advises Kartik on what to do with Bindu-Kishore, and he left the conversation giving her hope that he actually heard what she said, but was later shocked to see he did the exact opposite.

The annoyance Survi showed Kartik was subtle... but realistic... there was a moment of connection there, and it was one of KarVi's best scenes (in my opinion)... wish they had gone with more subtle scenes that showed more growth in KarVi...

Ankush, there are no words to describe how well he brought to life a character like Kartik... The role was made for him, and he owned it from beginning to end...

Even Krishna, Ankush slayed. He was a good villain... the type you wanted to route for, the writers did a good job in his characterization... the fault in that arc was the overall way in which it was carried... I still loved Krishna- Kushi's scenes from that...Proving that it was Ankush/Harbandana who did so much work in bringing to us the KarShi we love ❤️

I wish Ankush secures another project soon after he takes a break in which he get well rested... Can't wait to see what character he is going to bring to life next...

And, a special shout out to Pyare, Aniket, Kishore, Hema, Lata, Raghu, Shanti, Simran and Bindu... they were all amazing supporting cast members
Pyare's comedy was top notch. From his first scene, he never failed to make me laugh... his chemistry with Taayi, Kishore, Raghu, Hema and Krishna were some of the best.

Kishore, was a sweetheart throughout, he was the true saint who saw through all the evil, always staying on the right path... A great support to KarVi.

Hema was the cutest... there was always an innocence about her that I loved, even when she was on Taayi's side. She always belonged on the side of her brother Kartik.

Aniket, he is a great actor who could hold his own, who deserved his own story arc with Simran in parallel to KarVi. I wish we had seen more of Kartik?Aniket's bond, but lost out... So much potential there, I still remember some of the scenes with them before the big Survi/Simmi reveal... he always cared for an respected his brother...

Lata, both actresses were great. But I feel the later was not given enough to do... one of my fav scenes with her was when Kartik apologized to her for suspecting she had anything to do with hurting kushi. The original Lata, was amazing as well. especially before she was placed in a coma.

Raghu, he was hilarious... loved his scenes with Kartik, and their friendship, Many enjoyable moments early on... Wish they had not gotten rid of him... would have been nice to see more of Kartik/Raghu scenes...

Shanti, was so sweet. A true friend to Survi and a loving sister to Kartik. The scene where she addressed KarVi love for each other to Kartik was beautiful.

Bindu, was never to be trusted, and the actress portrayed it very well. But, the early scenes with her, hema, kartik and young aniket were her best

Jatin: I have no idea why he exited... he was to Survi as to what Raghu was to Kartik... would have been nice to have had the two meet...

Simran, I mention her here, even though it has been a while since her exit, because her character was well etched and had so much potential... I just wish they had explored her feelings for Kartik more, and Survi's reaction to it... We have seen characters like Iccha and Vishaka that had made Survi jealous, but I wish they had shown someone like Simran more... How could a guy like Kartik not attract more women for his good character???🤪 And, it would have been nice, because we could have seen more of why Kartik fell for Survi and not someone else who was good... making their bond seem even stronger... (writers, zee tv.. why??)
Her scene with Aniket, in which she refers to him as "Anubab" 😆
