Synopsis 2

Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke is a spin-off of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The story revolves around Naira’s cousin Mishti (played by Rhea Sharma), and the challenges she faces in her search for acceptance, love, and family.

Mishti challenges convention - first by asking for a courtship before marriage, and then having the temerity to say no despite being a girl. She finds the love she’s looking for in her rejected suitor’s older brother Abir (played by Shaheer Sheikh), which causes a new set of problems. The show follows her journey as she, with Abir’s help, navigates these and other issues that come her way while still maintaining the core character traits that make her stand apart. It serves to highlight the growing need in current times to balance personal desires and family expectations.
