somehow I am also hopeful for kunal's reaction, though sometimes it seems unreasonable going by the history of kunal's reactions when it comes to abir
right now this fact is only hidden from kunal right? meenu, mishbir, parul all know that it was kuhu's mistake, so I am hoping that by the time this truth comes out in front of kunal there would be a solid development shown, if kunal supports kuhu
but you know I recently observed in the MA grah-pravesh episode that when they play the game of finding things from the bowl, they have 3 rounds, 1st 2 mish wins, the last one is tie between mishbir, though I might be reading too much into it🤪 but after haar, coffee pills, kuhu has already lost 2 rounds, so next one should be a tie, translating into meenu's failed saazish in the resort case, lets see how it plays out
I am hopeful for Kunal's reaction to be a surprise simply because it has to be for the plot to move forward. I love your reading of the game's symbolism! Seems like Abir will get more proactive and make Kuhu win this time. But even then it was too late -- Meenu still got all the sikkas. I also think this Abir/Kuhu vs. Mishti/Kunal thing they are doing is going to play a major role, because they teased it both at the GP and at the resort. Kuhu and Abir in #rebellionmode and Kunal and Mishti (for their own separate reasons) taking Meenu at face value.
From what we saw, Kuhu will be by Kunal's side whether she agrees with him or not (but she'll resent his decision), Mishti will stick with Meenu's instructions, and Abir will try to show solidarity with Kunal and Kuhu but Kunal will send him back to Mishti. And there you have the separation of the brothers because of the sisters' fight that Meenu prophesied, but not in the way she anticipated. Abir left Mishti at the resort because she was asking him to choose between her and Kunal, just as Meenu anticipated and hoped, but Kunal is the wrench in the works she didn't expect. He is secure enough to send Abir to Mishti now without doubting his place in Abir's life, and I would like to think a little less afraid of sharing Abir because he has Kuhu with him.

Hi @Sam
I'm nandu, just passing by the kuku AT. Congrats everyone on the 4th one!
I don't comment here much, but do often read through the countless anlaysis discussions you all have, kudos to you all for such dedication
But your post here, really struck a big point! So I just had to reply
@Bold: This is a fantastic point you have brought up
. I totally agree, the mix up with the rishtas really messed up the mah family head with pushing for shaadi. Especially with Mish who wanted to get a solid career running, it all went out the window once Kuhu's shaadi came on to the cards. And I find it horrific and awful, that the entire mah family failed to question Kuhu and try to heal her pain after learning about the divorce. That's why I always felt the whole divorce drama really required a separate story and trackline, on it's own. rather than being mixed up messily with mishbir's shaadi (disappointed with the writing there). Honestly, the mah family have made grave mistakes in their parenting of the two sisters. (I have a whole analysis essay written, but kinda apprehensive to post it
) There numerous loopholes, and unfortunately the writers just let them slide, the sister's equation is very much complicated, and they haven't done justice to either Mishti nor Kuhu.
Hi Nandu! It's nice to properly meet you, and thanks for replying 😃
I completely agree with you. The Maheshwaris are so preoccupied with presenting this very happy and complete facade that they have failed spectacularly in addressing the real issues that come up with you introduce a new member to the family. The way they handled it did no favours for Kuhu or Mishti because in the end, Kuhu felt neglected and Mishti felt overburdened by ehsaan instead of feeling loved and accepted.
You know? I have this whole theory about how the way they handled Mishti had a lot to do with their unresolved grief over Akshara -- they think of her as their Akshara stand-in, and not only was that way too much pressure to put on Mishti's shoulders, but it alienated her from the rest of the family. Add the threat of Naman to this and you see this girl who is extremely oversheltered to the point where she is looking for any opportunity to break free (why I think she snuck out so much). Probably the worst part is that by overcompensating in their care for her, they cut her off from people who actually wanted to have more genuine relationships, like Kuhu, with whom she could have felt the sense of normalcy she was always craving.
I think we all agree that the divorce resolution was horribly handled, but as a Kuku fan, I have just learned to accept what we get as long as it's sort of in character. I mentioned on the previous AT that I wished the Kuku divorce had run parallel with the NishMish track instead of MA's shaadi. That way, they could have culminated with the NM shaadi getting cancelled and Kuku getting remarried on that mandap.
It would have been fun to see NMA all working together to help Kuku, Nishant getting to see Abir in a more flattering light, MA tension as they try to hide their feelings and say they are only doing this for their siblings, and finally Nishant realising that they were still in love and stepping aside. Not to mention those last two lines of the male Bekhudi, and the song in general used on Kunal a lot more. Nishant could have exited gracefully after the Kuku shaadi and then in my ideal world a grand and properly promoted shaadi of the leads would have happened after an intermediate track of Abir winning back BP's trust.
And please do post your essay! I totally understand your apprehension (which is why I have Fevicoled myself to this AT 😆) but the more writing there is on the history, complexity, and potential in Mishti and Kuhu's equation, the better I say! 👍🏼
