Arreee!! You guys are too sweet! Mere ek validation hungry comment pe sab itni cutely reply kar rahe ho. You people need to call me out when I become too greedy. It's not a good trait to have. Keep me in check.
As a creator, you have every right to be greedy about the comments your receive🤗 And since I am extra greedy freeloader who wants to enjoy all the good stuff and avoids hard work like plague, I am expecting more amazing content from you and everyone here 😆
Congratulations Snow !! 🤗

@Aqua: More than her general tendency to interfere, Mishti bringing Mehul to the doorstep rubs me the wrong way because of all the implications it carried. In an age of #metoo and #believewomen, it seemed especially tone deaf to make the female lead of a show support a man who abandoned his family over a woman who kept it together. Again, the one saving grace was that they didn't try to justify Mehul in any way -- he was as rotten as Meenu said he was.
I felt so horrible for Kunal in that phase -- he kept getting jhatka after jhatka and NOBODY cared to address how he felt about his absentee dad showing up one day and asking for a hug.
On top of that Meenu kept telling him he was the only one who could get through to Abir so he felt like a failure everytime he couldn't. If it weren't for Kuhu managing him, the family would definitely have fallen apart at that juncture.
@Meera: My favourite topic!! 😃 I think the important thing to understand about Meenu's moral framework (which she passed down to Kunal) is that it's not absolute. For her, the ultimate goal is to keep the family unit she created together at all costs so everyone outside of that unit (and even sometimes the happiness of the people in it) is expendable in achieving this goal. She is not concerned whether what happened to her happens to other women in general -- her focus is solely on making sure that her mistakes aren't repeated in her family and that it isn't compromised again the way she compromised it.
So more than Abir shouldn't have his heart broken, I think her throught process was, I can't let Abir indulge in a decision that would compromise the integrity of this family and the vision I have for taking it forward, a vision which is meant to correct the mistake I made. The way I see it, Meenu couldn't really discipline Abir because the threat of Mehul coming back and claiming him always loomed large. She let him do whatever he wanted in the hope that he would see that she wasn't against him but Mehul planted that seed of mistrust very deep in Abir and essentially created a lifelong struggle for Meenu. Even when he himself is out of the picture, Abir still can't see Meenu with any kind of sympathy.
I don't think Meenu would identify as a feminist, nor is she one in the abstract, but her story and her actions have a lot of feminist undertones, simply because she is allowed to be this complex, tragic figure -- a woman who has had to water herself down to succeed in a man's world.
@bold: I totally second your feelings! I also kind of understand the way Mishti's character has been written, her way of trying to solve a problem is how she would deal with it. I was watching the 1st episode (for reasons you already know) and the scene where she says "Agar Ketki ki life me koi badi maa jaisi hai to main use bhi unhe hurt karne nahin dungi". She doesn't get that she doesn't have the authority to make decisions for other people, even when they have asked for her help.
Also, one more detail that I noticed was that she keeps the feelings of the people she loves and cares for as the focus to justify interfering in situations. Like, in this case, it was Abir. She doesn't care to see the larger perspective.
Nobody cared for his feelings during that time. How hurt and shocked he must have been!! Even Kuhu was more concerned about his anger. Ooooooh!!! Brain added another layer to the #horror scene. He was waiting up for Kuhu so he could share his feelings with her, hoping that she would inadvertently say something that would make him feel okay. #NotFairNanko
@green: Oh my god!! the insight about Meenu!!😲
No idea why I am posting this 🤣
