Aaaahhh there are so many things I wish they could bring back from before the leap, from Abir's long hair, to Mishti's glasses, to Kunal's neat hair and crisp suits. I really miss all of those things! 😔

So pleasantly surprised by today's episode. Even though we know the whole universe and their mother is going to conspire to make Kuhu insecure about Mishti, I am so glad they are establishing that her default choice is to make peace and focus on enjoying her new relationship with Kunal. ❤️

I can't get over this Kunal who can be so innocent (no, Kunal, the first thing people assume hearing you scream isn't that your wife is hitting you 😉) but can also be so assertive when it comes to non-verbal communication. Please let this blushing competition continue ☺️

And Kuhu -- the way she was looking up at him when he was backing her into the dresser -- uff! So much uncertainty, hope, and excitement all at once. Kaveri absolutely nailed it!

After nearly a year of not being guaranteed even one scene a week, I don't think I need to explain how happy this is making me. 😃

Although I totally agree with the chronology you've laid out, I think I see the whole BB-Parul equation in a slightly more flattering light (tbh, they were my very first ship on this show 😳). BB could have saved her family's izzat just by offering to adopt Kunal in exchange for Parul to disappear and never speak of it again, but she chose to make Parul part of her family and give her a respected position.

I did not appreciate how Parul framed the story to Kunal when she revealed the truth about Abir and Mishti's break-up. I totally see how giving up her position as Kunal's mother was a major sacrifice for his future, but even if she does see herself as the "naukrani" of the house, what pray tell was she going to do instead? She doesn't have any marketable skills other than domestic labour (and I say this free of any judgment -- it's obviously not her fault), so she would have ended up doing this kind of work anyway. With the arrangement BB offered her, she at least got to watch her kid grow up in close proximity, and with opportunities she couldn't dream of providing him (even if her husband had been around).

I don't think Kunal ever hated Parul -- he just kept his distance like he did with everyone who wasn't either Abir or Meenu. Meenu brainwashed him into believing those were the only two relationships that mattered and Parul enabled this because it was good for Kunal's future if his relationship with BB was strong -- she didn't want to get in the way. That's why I don't quite see Meenu and Parul's equation as oppressor/oppressed. Parul made a lot of conscious choices along the way, for what she saw as the betterment of her son's life; she kept quiet when it was expedient and spoke up when she felt like BB was crossing a line (like with Kuku's shaadi). Her finding her own voice and disagreeing with BB is definitely one side of it, but from BB's perspective it's more like Parul is breaking the agreement they made. Again, the interesting thing is that both of them have a leg to stand on and it's not about who's right/wrong -- it's about how they choose to make this relationship worth through these disagreements.

Nine!! Nine!!👮🏻‍♀️

I really like the way you view their relationship and it's definitely much more flattering. You might be right about the big picture but I think Parul doesn't view herself as the somewhat empowered figure. Maybe that's what BB wanted. She wanted someone to hold down the fort but also be submissive to her demands. Oh so patriarchal Meenu ben! (It felt like I just described Parul as a nanny or actually like most Indian men treat their wives. Damn, that's sad! The nanny thing wasn't intensional but let's go with it as a 3rd perspective. The other 2 are coming up.)

From where I am standing after reading your POV and DQ's analysis as well as what we've seen in the show, I see 2 realities.

For Meenu, I think you are right to think that there was an agreement between the two and Parul has crossed the line quite a few times be it for Kunal or Abir. I can completely see the breadwinner-homemaker perspective fitting here with the agreement being the basis of their relationship. Also, I do feel that there was a motive behind this arrangement. If she would have left Parul to fend for herself, she would have always been scared of either the rise of the biological mother or her being manipulated by Mehul and somehow the truth of her marriage would have come out in the society. She already had one sword hanging over her head by not knowing Mehul's whereabouts and plans. She couldn't afford another one. With her giving Parul a place in her home, she gets to have some control that source of information. She knows Parul in and out now and in my head, if that happened, Meenu is a much more manipulative person than we've given her credit for.

The second reality that I see is Parul's. From the dialogues she has had, it seems like she sees herself as the queen's maid. The only movie reference I can think of right now is Jodhaa-Akbar. She is the the right hand, the sole confidante and the support system for Meenu like the daasis used to be in earlier times.

I would love to all you guys' thoughts on my theory but I think @Ria is going to tell us to move back to KuKu in a bit😬 (which I am 100% going to because I have seen today's episode and I am excited!!!) Sorry Ria! Just let us know when we should stop. It's just that after discussing KuKu with full fervor, all of us move to the story and then other characters come in.

Sam you are right on the money here. Bigben(and therefore parul) have been written fairly well for an ITV show. She is the antagonist but does that shaan se. In fact, I do hope she comes up with some better plans in her new improved version. 😈. The haar and bus rooftop may be her idea in some shape or form too. She has known about the sisters' "love" for each other since the rishta swap in the way days.

Like you said, parul isnt as helpless as we are made to believe. There was a contract in place and bigben expects parul to abide by it. Parul is no victim. A servant... gah far from it.😳 She is the wife to the breadwinner in bigben. Who brings home the daily bread in RV family? Bigben and then kunal(the only person who bigben has genuinely victimized is kunal. To a fault that he now decided to draw a line under the MA<>bigben drama and get the two married)

My whole frustration with the way bigben plots is that they are so lame at times. If this time she has worked out the Domino effect, then more power to her. Ever since I realised kunal is Parul's son (they gave us hints very early on), I have been intrigued by Bigben.

I have also seen posts commenting on her terrible makeup. I actually believe it's not by accident, it's by design. She has no training or time to deck herself up. Her husband's(for whom she went against her family to marry in the 1st place) beautiful mistress is around her 24x7 and i doubt she goes up to anyone and asks how to use the various beauty products. No one ofcourse dares to tell her that she doesnt use them correctly. I refuse to believe she has no sense of aesthetics. The RV house is tastefully done. Kunal's room is modern and up to date. I think her makeup is telling a story too.

Whoever is writing her, pls do a better job of her plots this time around.

Where have you been?? I have missed your perspectives. You come in with a completely different take and I am like iss cheez pe to mera dhyaan bhi nahi gaya.

I just wrote my BB and Parul kahaani on the previous post but as I said in the last paragraph, I didn't even consider the make-up thing. It could be intentional or not but I like your theory more.

I think I never considered the make-up being part of the narrative because the actress playing Meenu has always has very very different and OTT looks in past shows or just the Gopi vahu show. I don't remember her role in any other show.

Now, I am gonna shut up about BB and move on to KuKu!!!♥️♥️♥️

@Bold This is her plan B. Her plan A was to stop MishBir wedding—- Fixing same date as kuku divorce date and instigating kuhu to claim her rights at the right moment.

When her plan A miserably failed, her plan B has been applied where her explicit pawns are kuhu and Jas, implicitly Mishti will also be used. But this plan of hers will fail as usual but a lot of people will hurt in the process either physically or mentally.

But I think BP words today is also an indication of this track. Yes he know BB is no less than an demon but the life partners of their daughters are incomparable. He is very much confident that Abir will handle his mom now that he has kunal on his side because he is aware that kunal is Abir’s weakest point.
Mishti is a confused child and kuhu is an unsecured child. I don’t blame them because former is a foster child and latter is a illegitimate child. The wounds that the society gave them is still sore. I think Jas would have played a major role in keeping their wounds sore till now.

In that sense, RV brothers are more fortunate than the sisters. All the credits goes to Parul Maasi. Now my only hope is on Abir because he never believed his mother ever... and I don’t think he will be full on romance mode and neglect seeing things going around them especially around Mishti. I liked when he asked Kuhu ‘Bro is this your plan’.
as soon as Mishti panicked the first person came to his mind is ‘Ma’. So he suspects’Ma’ first and then Kuhu who are most eligible people to hurt Mishti.

Even if Mishti hides the family drama from Abir, I don’t think Abir will leave her to suffer alone. It will look like he is walking behind her, blinded to their surroundings but in reality he will observing the things that are revolving around her like he noticed JAs whispering into Mishti’s ears during bidaai.
He will let her lead and follow her as a shadow. But at the right time, he will take the lead in their relationship.
Likewise he will also make sure that kuhu is not hurt in this process as well because of his promise to BP and for his nanko.

I don't think Abir suspects Kuhu. BP and BM, sure. Abir, nope. He may be worried about Mishti being hurt but I don't think he believes that his bro would ruin something when he was involved in the situation too.

Also, he will make sure that Kuhu isn't hurt in the process not just because of BP and Nanko but also because he genuinely considers her as his 'bro'. I don't know if friend is the the right word to use here. Their relationship falls between friend and family. I see MishNal moving to a similar ground as KuBir.

Yesss !! Kunal's suits need to come back. He looked so handsome in suits and he also needs a haircut too. I guess we will get Kunal in suits if he ever goes back to work but it seems like the functions in this show never ever get over. So he is stuck with the Kurta look for now.
