“Tremors hit, quaking her hard enough for him to feel them. He wrapped his arms around her and bent his face close to hers. He might not understand what was going on in her head, but a mighty squall was battering her hull, and if he couldn't figure out how to shelter her from it, he aimed to be her anchor until it passed because sometimes the only thing you could do for people was to be there.”
― Karen Witemeyer, More Than Words Can Say
The concept of love has always fascinated me. I am an avid reader, so I have frequently dealt with the perception of love depicted in stories. As a child Disney movies and fairytales taught us that true love’s kiss could solve all your problems and all that you needed was a prince charming in your life who said things you needed to hear. So, the idea of love derived from these stories was that it needed to be expressed in intimate gestures and through words. For ages I held on to this concept of love in many ways I became like Kuhu I was so much in love with the idea of love that I stopped looking past the three words said to me by another person. I stopped looking at the person for what they were and just hung on to their words. However, I painfully realized that this was not real love rather it was just a mere infatuation. For love that is real needs not to be expressed through words or intimacy it needs to be felt it needs to be expressed through actions. It simply became what Abir said to Naanu once “Main Misthi se I love you bolne say pehlay uss ko yay yakeen dilana chatha hoon kay main hamesha uss ka saath dunga” and in this episode he stayed true to his words and showed it through his actions .Words are just mere words unless they are backed up by actions and intimacy is not just fulfilling each other’s physical needs but also to fulfill each other’s emotional needs. It is baring your soul to someone and expecting and hoping that they will love you in spite of your flaws. Love is when someone loves all of you not the perfect you but the real you that is imperfect. Sometimes love is showing up for people even when they expect you not to show up. Sometimes it is to make the other person feel that you will always be there for them. Sometimes when the whole world turns its back on a person you still believe in them because they are your person. Sometimes love creeps up in quiet moments when you believe that you are all alone but than a hug makes you feel you are finally home. When someone’s arms became your save haven and just for a moment you let your guard down because you know that the other person will not let you fall. When everything else is falling apart but that one person holds you together that one person gives you the hope that things will eventually get better. For love is not giving up on someone even when they feel like giving up on themselves. That is what love is for Mishbir and that’s the reason I adore them so passionately because their love for each other is so pure so honest that no words can do justice to it.
Yesterday’s episode was gut wrenching because in spite of having a loving family and being surrounded by people Misthi was still left alone. When BB makes the demand that Misthi needs to stay away from the wedding Varsha implores everyone that they need to stop thinking about Misthi and think more about Kuhu’s happiness. As Misthi hears these words she tells everyone that she is planning to leave.
“Bade Papa main Mumbai ja rahi hu apni friend kay pass. Iss say better time nahi ho sakta uss kay pass jana ka” She walks out silently hoping against hope that someone might stop her. For a moment no one one does but than BP stops her and tells her that she has hurt his sentiments and she may leave later as its already night time. As a result Misthi goes back to her room but no one comes up to her no one asks her how she is feeling. She sends a thank you text to BB for holding up her end of the bargain and then she sits on the window ledge and just cries her heart out. I will take a moment to praise Rhea Sharma as this girl acts so well that she makes you feel her pain. The sad version of dheeray dheeray say starts playing she closes her eyes and reminisces about Abir. In all this pain and chaos his memories are the only comforting thing. Right on cue we see Abir in their courtyard and Misthi senses it immediately that he is here. It was the most cliched scene ever but for once I didn’t mind it because Mishbir make every cliché even more beautiful.
“Abir? Lekin woh yahan kyun ahaya ga woh teray paas kabhi bhi kyun ahayay ga. Aaj jo tunay kiya hain uss kay baad toh who tera chera bhi nahi dekhna chaiyay ga. Aaj toh BP in bhi mera saath nahi diya main phir say akeli ho gi” the way Rhea said these lines tugs at your heartstrings. She muses that why would he come to her of all people because after what she has done he won’t even want to look at her face. Even BP did not support her today and tbh that hurts like hell because she now truly feels alone. As alone as she once felt when her parents and her relatives abandoned her. She further muses that one day Kuhu will understand that she did everything for her happiness. She is lost in her thoughts when BB texts her saying that now its her turn to fulfill the end of the bargain and she says “Peechay mat hatna” and right on cue she hears a sound and turns back and there he is. Homeboy has climbed up her rooms balcony perhaps and softly lands in her room through the window. She is stunned but afraid that someone might see that he is here so she looks here and there but our homeboy Abir is only looking at her. He comes up to her and embraces her in a tight hug and she rests her head on her shoulder and cries her heart out. She allows herself to melt in his embrace and olaf from frozen was right “some people are worth melting for” . Their music plays until he breaks the hug and cups her face in his hands and asks her “Tum theek ho na” this simple dialogue was so profound he could have asked her anything at that moment he could have been angry at her as she had kept secret from him he could have called her out on her rude and out of character behavior the other day but instead he choses to ask her if she is okay. Something her only family even did not even bother to ask her but he does. She tries to show him fake anger and jerks of his hands and says”Tumhay yahan nahi ahana chaiyay tha” but the truth is her heart is rejoicing on that fact that he came for her but her mind overpowers her and after she says this she turns to look away because if she looks in to his eyes right now she would not be able to keep her true emotions at bay.
“Tumhay yahan kisi nay dekh lia na toh sab naraz ho gay meri family bhi aur tumhari family bhi” She tells him that she does not want to cause her family anymore pain.
“Tum apni family ko naraz nahi karna chaati itni fiqar hain un ki toh phir aaj woh sab kyun bola” He is latching on to her every word he asks her that if she cares so much about her family than why did she do all those things
“Abir Kunal tumhara real brother hain who tumhari family hain aur yay family meri nahi hain phir bhi mainay iss ghar aur iss ghar kay logo ko apna banana kay ki koshish ki par main fail ho gayi” She tries to stall him by saying how this is not her real family but Kunal is his real family and she really tried to make her place in this family but she failed.
“Kyun jhoot pay jhoot bol rahi ho Misthi” Abir is like girl please spare me this BS and tell me the truth and stop lying because its so obvious. Don’t you know Mish that I have always been able to read you like an open book.
“Rehnay doh tumhay samaj nahi ahyaya ga. Tum meri situation main nahi ho “ She tells him that he won’t get it as he is not in her shoes.
“Mishti agar saaf saaf nahi bata sakti toh koi hint day doh mujay bata doh kon tumay yay sab kehnay ko majboor kar raha hain” He tells her that give me at least a hint of who is forcing you to do this. Homeboy is literally gasping for straws here. When he says that poor Mish remember his dragon MAA threatening her and scaring the living daylights out of her but than her heart reminds her that Abir once told her “ Tab tak koi problem nahi ho gi jab tak hum aik dossray say honestly baat kar sakay. Misthi sach bohot khoobsurat hota hain tum mujh say kabi jhoot mat kehna” Than she remember how he also said” Life ko aik chance day kar toh dekho” and she gets happy and thinks that he still trusts her. “Abir ko abb bhi mujh par bharosa hain kia main yay chance lay lun” she asks herself and instantly turns to look at him and is about to confide in him but stops herself as she hears Varsha’s voice calling out Kuhu. Honestly this woman has such bad timing because Misthi remembers that she is doing all this for Kuhu’s wedding so she doesn’t tell Abir the truth.
“Mujhay jo kehna tha main nay keh diya hain abb aur kuch nahi bacha tumhay apnay ghar jana chaiya” she tells him off in a frustrated tone and walks away but then like he always used to do he calls out from the back
“Suno….” Shaheer’s voice modulation here was top notch it feels like he is literally choking and gasping for breath and all Abir wants in that moment is her to turn back and face him like she always used to do. The suno registers with her and for a brief moment she stops but than due to her circumstances with tears in her eyes she marches on and does not look back.
“Misthi…..” his voice is laced with so much pain it feels like his whole world is crashing around him as he remembers that once he pointed out on the fact that she always turns back when he calls her out but Alas today she did not and our poor homeboy just stands in her room eyes full of pain. This entire sequence was gut wrenching. Shaheer Sheikh is a gem and he is so talented Mashallah. On the other side Kunal thinks that they have finally managed to save bhai from Mishti and bhai now thinks ill of his girl “Finally bhai nay realize kar liya kay Misthi actually main kaisi hain. Hum nay unhay bacha liya Maa” I could not help but laugh because at the same moment his bhai was climbing balconies and windows to talk to Misthi. I love how the show trolls this stupid delusion duo. Misthi asks God to protect her family. The next day there is hustle and bustle around her and the whole house is decorated for Kuhu’s weddings.
“Mera kaam pura hua aaj meri pur family kitni khush hain aaj Kuhu ki fairytale bhi khush ho jayay gi uss ko uss ki saari khusiyan mil jayay gi” she muses to herself the poor girl is happy that Kuhu will finally get her happiness and have her fairy tale wedding. She does not even think about her own happiness but fear not Mish Abir once said” Kisi aur ki khusiyan tuhari khusion kay saath juri ho toh” one thing I am sure of is that our homeboy will give you happiness and will fulfill your fairytale;) Jasmeet is asking the pandit to do some miracle so they wedding goes on smoothly but the pandit tells her that miracles do happen as long as you have have sincere faith in him God will never disappoint us. Misthi overhears this and tells God how much she has hurt her family for this wedding and how much she wishes that she could stay for the wedding.
“I wish koi aisa chamatkar ho pata kay mujay yay sab feel karnay ka mauqa milta” She asks for a miracle that would allow her to experience the wedding and that very instant her heart reminds her of the words he once said to her. How poetic it is that whenever she is low his words act like that balm that soothe her pain and give her hope.
“Saaray doubts bhula kar zindagi ki taraf haath badha kar toh dekho zindagi haat thaam hi lay gi” He told her to forget her doubts and to seize the day to be truly happy.
“Abir agar sach main aisa koi chamatkar kar sakta hian toh sirf tum hi ho” For her this is the absolute certainty that if anyone can fix things for her it is him. Isn’t is beautiful Abir once told her “Ho sakta hain upar wala nay mujay aap ki help karnay kay liay bheja hain aur app ko meri” and afterwards how we have seen that dialogue coming in to play. At numerous occasions they have helped each other. He makes her wants to believe in the magic of miracles. The truth s they are the miracle in each other’s lives.
“There's something so quietly contained in the moments when one reaches their hand out to support your tragedy. It's hardly ever spoken about, but the feeling of belonging to somewhere, or someone for a split second, gives you enough power to carry on a few more steps.
When the world is full of compassionate people like this, the world will know Unconditional Love.”

Stray thoughts
- This is long so if you are still reading loads of duas for you and if you can please leave your thoughts.
- The starting scene where Kuhu begs Kunal was despicable and what was even worse that apart from Abir no one dared to actually ask the girl to get up.
- Loved how Abir reminded his dear MAA that since the Mahs never asked about their absentee father even they do not have the right to question Kuhu's parentage
- So Parul Maasi does not speak up because for her only Kunal matters as long as the wedding is on she will stay mum
- Ugh I can't stand Meenu ka Munna looking at his Maa every time before he says anything
- Can we skip and fast forward to the airport scenes pretty please.
