When we talk about this show being progressive, it's demonstrated by a very small scene today. Small in terms of timing but very impactful. Abir choses Pink as his favourite colour to paint the wall whereas mishti selects Blue!

How many times have we been hearing that pink is stereotyped for girls! This show breaks that stereotype in a very subtle but impactful way! Kudos to the writers for such scenes!

PS- Its in today's episode so if anyone has not watched it yet, sorry for the spoiler!

Drawing a heart is so Mishbir! Like the song Dheere Dheere, they draw a heart again! ❤️

Also, if you notice, Mishti said that a girl can profess her love for her man too! That means we are going to get a proposal scene from Mishti's end in the future! I am so happy that this show is everything that ITV is not! Just so excited I am now.

Aree this show has already broken many stereotypes. That's why it's called a regressive show by many critics.😆

Jokes apart.... It is a progressive one. There is nothing wrong if a guy chooses pink colour or a proposal comes from a girl's side. But this hasnt happened on ITV.(protocol hei bhai)

Thank god ,this show is not a typical saas bahu types. It's perfectly suited to StarPlus tag line- Rishta wohi Soch nai.

Yes I noticed that too. It was beautiful , subtle and yet impactful - much like the show itself. :)

And I also caught on to mishti's line on girls can propose to. So yeah, I am fully expecting Mishti to go down on her knees for Abir. Yayyyieeee

Agreed

What was actually lovely about that scene was Abir's reaction

When Mishti said "mujhe toh blue pasand hai"

He just simply said "tum blue karlo, main pink kartha hoon"

Just showing that two individualities can co exist in a relationship, they don't need to merge to become one

Hope the makers stay committed to this perspective

Absolutely! I like the way the serial is not making a huge hue and cry about making a point, but subtly creating an impact. It also shows that this is not such a big deal and stereotypes can be easily broken

ofcourse there is feminine side in every guy and masculine side in every gal.

@Bold- nor any one has to be submissive

Also she felt easy enough to tell him she likes blue.❤️

I'm counting she will be proposing once she realizes. She won't be waiting

Oh yes, that was a nice thing they showed there with the heart.

Nice post!

I agree, that scene was indeed trying to make a point against stereotypes. The expectation that pink is a “girly” color was flipped when Abir chose that instead and both of them happily filled in their choice of color to form a complete heart...indicating that two people can bring their individual choices to an equation and still form a complete whole. :)

The episodes have been lovely! And what I like is they don’t make a propaganda about breaking stereotypes but make it look natural /casual. I feel this makes it more heart warming . This show plays stuff in a subtle manner and that’s the reason I watch the show in first place. Looking forward to many more such scenes between Abir-mishti and May be as Kunal and kuhu mature a bit more between them too.
