Nav’s character was never compelling. I’ve said this multiple times—he could have been far more believable if introduced as a neighbor or someone helping out at Akshara’s friend’s house. Maybe Muskan could’ve been Akshara’s friend, and through her, Nav could’ve been introduced. But what was his actual purpose? Just a story ti tell toofani raat? All Akshara did after his death was ask Abhimanyu to give their relationship a chance— beg Manjari. Her supposedly abusers. My signature is the proof of what I mean look at her flipping. That’s it. It suggests the only thing stopping her before was Nav’s presence and she flipped as soon as he is gone. A character introduced like that should contribute meaningfully to the story. He should’ve influenced Akshara’s growth, helped her see what she lacked, and challenged her thought process. That would’ve been beautiful. Instead, he was just there—constantly present, mutely supporting her vengeful nature. So much for being the “achha aadmi.”
People say “Mickey (Chai Paani/Tea Water) doesn’t like Nav, just salty so blah blah blue blue,” but the truth is, I don’t like him because there’s nothing there in the Ckt. No substance.
As someone who’s read and watched good stories—even on Indian television—I refuse to accept and hype such a bland character who feels like he was only written in because the writer was his friend or the actor needed a job.
Had he been introduced as RK was introduced or Geetanjali for that matter, I might have enjoyed it 100%. Honestly, I’m looking forward to Anshuman—not because I have anything against Ropu or Rahul Sharma fan (I don’t even know him)—but because it finally feels like the writers are putting effort into building a proper character for Cameo. As I’ve said before, a character should have flaws, quirks, and reasons. Nav had none. He was just... bland.
I’ve written this long response only for you, Sneha—hoping you understand what I meant about storytelling and characters. This is a once-in-a-blue-moon post, because I don’t expect logic or comprehension skills from IF anyway. It’ll always be “Oh, you don’t like X character because of her father,” as if I give a damn—or as if she’s real. 🤷🏻♀️
