I think after the nanny kidnapping incident abhira took pookie and left him. Because he was at fault. Maybe she went to goenkas. And then he came and stole pookie and ran away,,and abhira and family don’t know where he and pookie are.,that’s why he has a new identity. They've shown Pookie yearning for a mother which means she knows the nanny/caretaker is not her mother. This is a big change from gen 3 where Abhir grew up bonding with Abhinav as his papa.

Haan Akshu aur manyu ka divorce kardiya pre-leap so the scenario was different. And Abhir was brought up with Akshnav as parents so he had an irrevocable bond with Abhinav that manyu and his mom couldn't break despite their many attempts.

Here it's different as Armaan hasn't moved on yet and is not married to the new lady. Plus Abhira is blameless in this scenario so she will get her beti back unlike manyu who heartlessly divorced Akshu the day she miscarried.
