It isn't. Which is why it was called out even in the show. Had it been pure, they would never have had Vidya know about Shivani from the start. They would never have maybe even brought back Shivani from the dead. They wanted to show that step mother's can not just be manipulative, but also extremely selfish. That is why every character, including her own very son, call her out for her actions. No one except for Kaveri has condoned what Vidya has done. Even if she wants to maintain a holier than thou attitude, even she knows that she has absolutely no ground to stand on when it comes to Armaan, Abhira or Shivani. While I would like to belive that they don't plan to WW Vidya, I am still happy that even in the show, she is not able bechari naati, but someone who willingly exploited a little child, just so that she could have a relationship with her husband and his family

Besides I have never called Vidya out, trying to understand her actions everytime as betrayal that the son she loved most had somewhere prioritized someone else over her …I had no idea that it was because she was feeling threatened that she would lose the victim card that she had been playing consistently to get out of every situation. …so I am doubly harsh on her because I feel just as betrayed as Armaan now 🤷🏻‍♀️

also the title is misleading here, Armaan subconsciously remembers Vidya while setting the cylinder, and gets upset, so Abhira simply says that its normal to feel that way cause he considered her his mother his whole life.

Also this was what I was trying to say. Armaan is in immense guilt that he still thinks of Vidya & remembers everything about her like a dutiful sin. Be it when he did that thing with the idli or when he brought a saree that normally Vidya wear for Shivani, Armaan defaults to how he was with Vidya & then feels awful about it later. So I feel Abhira in a way wants him to face her & accept that she was awful to him, but also forgive her, so that he can feel okay while he transitions from being Vidya ka ladla to Shivani ka Aaru.

I kind of thought that. I wanted to check with you on that coz I remember how you had defended Vidya coz we all had thought that they would keep that one good thing about her of accepting her husband's child from another woman and making him her own. We allowed a hell of a lot of crap from her for that

But I agree that we feel as betrayed as Armaan knowing that uss rishte main pyaar kabhi tha hi nahi - it was only manipulation and a need to use him to play victim as and when required.

That's why her obsession with keeping him from Abhira makes sense. Coz for Vidya, she felt that Armaan was her sole trump card. Everytime he chose Abhira over Vidya, Vidya knew that if and when the secret comes out, she will lose this battle & her darkest fears actually came true

Yes. Surprisingly it was very warm, despite knowing that MG can flip faster than pancake as and when required.

But I loved how they made Swarna & Surekha ask all the right questions, while MG just stood at the side & observed, while then finally giving his 2 cents to Armaan & reassuring him that this choice he made was correct. It gave him the boost that him leaving was needed, despite the situation he has put Abhira in because of his decision
