He's trying. He is trying to give soft smile, admiring looks but something is missing.

He's bang on in 1-2 scenes but falls short in others. Sam is still very much in it but its Rohit thats falling short in some scenes.

Precap was very thanda from his side. I really hope he can give an angry outburst like Sheh pulled off twice- once when deal shaadi thing came out and once post Kaveri case which was publicly done and top notch. hopefully he will be angry about her audacity.

I did not mind this scene. I think he was good here.

It is the overall lack of emotion in romantic scenes that makes him look stiff. He gives no expression in those scenes. Not being in love is different and not getting affected is different. The director or someone needs to tell him that.

In his earlier serials too he was stiff but none of the serials demanded such a layered emotional character portrayal so it was ok. Here he is trying to do better than his past but still a long way to go. Btw I also have a doubt if he uses eye liner/kajal? If yes then I would like that to go away.

Was he stiff? I don't feel he was stiff in Dhadkan and Udariyaan. I have only seen clips of these two shows.

I did not watch Udariyan except some episodes on YT. Dhadkan his role somehow very suited his acting capabilities. And lets not forget his character ended on the 66th episode so it was not a long journey. Here in yeh rishta Armaan is a very multifacted character which needs soft emotions so he has to learn to show those. Porus/Udariyan/Razia Sultan roles were def not like Yeh Rishta. Lets see how he adapts.

I feel is not bad in soft scenes, nok jhok scenes, or confrontation scenes with family members; His biggest weakness is romantic scenes and lack of heart eyes to Abhira.

Whatever he had done in old shows does not matter, he needs to show us his emotions in the current one.

I don't feel he was bad here. I liked the subtle expression.

But I did not like his expressions in the Aadha hai Ishq sequence. I have noticed one thing: the camera does not pan on him a lot, in romantic scenes. I don't know if it is deliberate or not.
