Forget the engagement Arohi herself was sidelined for many months barely getting any dialogues. The cross couple trope failed miserably and the makers abandonned her and the engagement all together.
Like you mentioned there were scenes where it looked it was called off, but not officially because makers wanted the engagement as a placeholder for future drama. Now, that makers want Abhira together again Arohi will be back. Muskaan still lurking in the background too lol.

She is unaffected for months now.
