I started watching rishta only because of the positivity only. They showed day to day life and family things in Gen 1. No extreme planning, plotting that was normal at that time in ITV. A breath of fresh air we can conclude gen1 like that.

I guess the intent of this "track" is to show Abhi's self-confidence as a doctor and a son totally broken.....but as usual the execution is

Now see, usually in a situation where someone is broken and low in self-esteem, you try to reflect on why it is so......Abhi literally said clear cut that he now agrees with Parth's point that he couldn't save his mom, so he can't save his patients.....lol and literally no one in the families reflects on how most of them said the same stuff to Abhimanyu - demeaning him both as a son and as a doctor.....calling him a failure over and over and over again on EVERY point.....lol but now when he is actually feeling like a failure, they are berating him for that also without wondering how he got to this point

Ak's purpose in this track is to boost his broken self-esteem as sort of a repayment of how he helped her after Nav's death......understood.....but it's still somewhat falling flat cuz she never once wonders why Abhi feels like a failure since sooooo many people are constantly saying this to him.....never once even a moment of reflection of how many times she has demeaned and abused him as a person.....all this healing works better if a person feels connected to the person's emotions. Abhi was literally feeling her pain on a visceral level when she was grieving about Nav and all the advice he gave her was always via his own life's experiences about processing pain and setbacks....still feeling lingering guilt for Ak being in this state even when it wasn't his fault directly.

Meanwhile Ak feels nothing when she sees Abhi's broken self-confidence.....it's just become a general discussion on how maa needs her son to heal etc. etc.....rather than wondering what makes someone broken to this level that they are stepping back from the only relationship left in their life.....Ak never looks at Abhi as a whole human being...it's always bits and pieces of whatever suits her current presumptions....lol....there is no reflection on how much his mom is his only anchor left in life and how he must be feeling in this moment that he is feeling like he failed her too.....it's still mostly about guilt tripping him that why can't you go to Manju since maa needs beta

It is unrealistic as we think about what is current standard of shows but I can believe as it started way back like a decade ago...serials used to be better than at least current ones...I saw this serial when it started may be for a month or two till Sr Akshara was unmarried..don't even remember much..but I know it had lot of songs and dance
