In my opinion these mega tv shows should take seasonal break every year and come back after few months..then people wont get bored and the creatives exhausted overworked brains will start working little bit so the storylines will be slightly better and less messy..

For example the english show Heartland has been running since 2007 and still has a decent tolerable storyline because of seasonal breaks..

Quality of all the shows of SP has taken a nose dive ever since they started following 7 days schedule.

And actors look exhausted too. This 7 day format is way too tiring and harsh. They should go back to 5 days schedule and concentrate on quality.

In India, I really don't think it would work well. I am sure it would have been thought through. Having been huge fan of English sitcoms, even I prefer Binge watching idea once entire season is finished. People are usually very busy and by the time next season comes, they may not even remember or care for continuing. Hum Paanch, Tu Tu Mein Mein, and so many other did try this format.

I personally like that idea because it literally gives enough time for creators to focus on story and plan execution! But from business side, it maybe a loss

Second, major reason for the massive drop in ratings across ALL GEC is dependency on OTT.

Ashiqana is the melodramatic series with tv soap like script that sort of worked with seasons and breaks.but when compared to other series it was too overdramatic and little bit silly. In future I feel these long running cringe tv soaps will slowly cease to exist because people of all ages are slowly prefering OTT over long running tv serials without head or tail.it’s quality over quantity.

Generation 3 would have worked better if Rajan Shahi's intentions were genuine.

DKP had to copy IN to the T or atleast make Aarohi negative. She completely flipped and forgave Akshara. Story went for a toss.

Anyways SP wanted to compete with colors as they have a solid weekend programming base

2.1 is certainly not sustainable for Yrkkh with 3 sets, expensive star cast etc.

The other shows aren't doing well in terms of story. Ghum crashed with the introduction of new male lead.

In YHC some woman was beating a man with a stick. Horrible, switched off the TV.

Fingers crossed for thrillers to make a comeback on weekends.

Sssshh koi kai will bring respite
