Coming from a medical background, as a doctor - It is very disappointing to see how the creative team and writers of the show are displaying the medical profession on ITV in the name of entertainment. There are specifically few things would like to bring into attention because as a viewer I feel it's a mockery of such noble profession on global platform in handling sensitive health issues.
It's lame excuse to say this is ITV show - "SAB CHALTA HAI". In the name of entertainment, it's creating confusion and influencing people's mind about the noble profession.
1) First of all, there is something called PHIA (Personal Health Protection Act) - This Act is to keep personal health information confidential and secure, not to disclose to anyone without patient's consent. If there is a breach in maintaining confidentiality then that person is liable to fine upto 10,000$ or imprisonment of up to 6 months or both upon found guilty. These are the strict measures in one of the foreign country. Each doctor signs Oath of confidentiality. I am not sure in India how this rule is executed. I am sure they also must be having something similar in place.
Here - Aarohi is openly asking Neha (Looks like she is shown as someone working at Birla Hospital) to find out which doctor Abhimaniyu is referring his patient / his wife case??? Seriously??? Barging into someone's bedroom like thief and stealing the confidential patient's file??
Aarohi and Neha as a doctor completely violating the privacy. If the doctor is not involved in the patient care, then she has no right to look into patient details, no matter the patient is her sister. Neha cannot disclose patient's information because just she is patient's sister. Both needs Akshara's consent. Both needs to be punished on medical background.
2) Precap - Aarohi is getting into practicing doctor's office in the hospital without permission and in his absence and accessing his personal cell phone...what kind of practice manners CVs are trying to show for Aarohi as a doctor???
Doctors are such insensitive??? In the name of personal rivalry, she can go to any extent forgetting her ethics as a doctor and roam freely in the hospital doing nonsense??? Is it a JOKE that you have shown her as a state topper?? Do you see the clear difference in the state topper Dr. ABHIMANIYU BIRLA and Dr. Aarohi Goenka???
3) Anand Birla, the Medical Director of Birla Hospital became Alcoholic due to personal stress and under alcohol influence, he was going into Operation theatre to do surgery----really??? It's good that Abhimaniyu and Harsh accepted and asked for forgiveness. Anand had his license revoked for a year but showing Mahima, the next senior most doctor trying to justify that?
Please CVs refrain from showing such insensitive mannerism in health care profession and mixing personal and professional lives.
4) KIDNEY DONOR FIASCO - What kind of work ethics was it shown? Is this the solution that oh - the problem is solved because we got another kidney donor.
No, The actual problem is not addressed properly - changing the priority list of the patient awaiting kidney due to pressure from some rich high positioned family...Tomorrow what if the second donor is not available??
Please do some research/class work about organ donor - recipient rules and regulations before bringing such critical topic in the name of entertainment.
5) Aarohi stealing drugs from Hospital pharmacy stock. She is shown walking all giddy and unstable in the hospital corridor - spotted by hospital staff. But no one disclosed this critical information to health authority including the female lead.
6) Adoption truth through DNA reports - It was conducted in the hospital to validate the new tests for the hospital..Any ERA GERA NATHU KHERA can come to the lab and ask for DNA reports and tells she or he will give to the responsible person and the lab person releases such confidential matter??? They were DNA test results of volunteers - Birlas and other people..it should be handled confidential as well. First it was touched by Akshara but not taken. Then later again Dr. Aarohi went straight to Akshara and blurted the truth of Neil's biological father and showed her the report. Where are her ethics as a doctor?? How can she disclose anyone's result to anyone for her personal motives? Again the confidentiality rule was violated by Dr. Aarohi.
Does she knows her standards, rules and regulations as a practicing intern??
Please have some self-reflection before writing dialogues and tracks. In reality, will you allow someone to leak your private health information without your consent? If that person leaks the information, will you just white washed her?
Will you allow your surgery to be done by some doctor under alcohol influence because still he can do it as he is best and experienced?
Pregnancy is very sensitive issue for woman. Show some shame and human standard to your beloved character Dr. Aarohi.
