The way he suddenly seemed to completely give himself up to his newly discovered love for Akshu during the mask festival. Like from one moment to the next he was like I never believed in love, but now I've seen you so I'm converted immediately. That wasn't the behavior of a mature man who knows himself. Next he never bothered to speak to Akshara about his feelings and hers properly. He wasn't even clear with his mother, though they were shown to be so close. This could be blamed on faulty writing ofc, but it can also be that Abhi's character was being sketched that way..he is so self-involved that he assumes everyone automatically understands his every feeling, or at least those who he loves are expected to. Like his mother, then Akshu. That's why he was getting so fierce with Akshu on the disastrous tilak day. Saying you know how I feel for you. And his rudeness even then towards Aarohi, like whoever stands in the path of his desires wasn't going to get any decency from him. Even though Aarohi did have some very slight signs for thinking Abhi was interested in her...his speaking to her twice on the phone, telling her to create a group for posting pics etc. To be fair to Aarohi she didn't then immediately assume that it was bcz he was attracted. Only after Harsh praises her and sort of gives her the idea that she might become a part of her family as well as hospital and coincidentally Abhi calls her again afterwards when coming to speak to elders that she starts weaving her dreams. He does say to delete some msgs he had sent which she doesn't bcz she was into that guy and wanted to keep them. But Abhi just treats her like dirt even then. Then his forcefully bringing Akshu to Birla house and expecting her to overcome whatever inhibitions were holding her back and just open up in front of strangers regarding her deepest feelings was insensitive and egotistical. After that he just spiralled downwards. So what I'm saying is I never felt him to be a cool, caring, mature guy from the beginning. Then the way his relationship with his mother was shown didn't impress me either. Especially with that Manjari giving kind of unbalanced person vibes.

So I feel this is how his character has been written from the first, and the way he's behaving now comes as no surprise to me. And those who love Abhira and Abhimanyu Birla do so for just this-- they like the concept of an innocent girl needing to be saved from herself and of a man who is a boor and a devil but becomes putty in the hands of the woman he loves, who loves like a madman and can commit murder even for his love. A man for whom his only allegiance is for his woman and the rest of the world can rot. This is the kind of character they like. You can see this in the way the fans have been gloating over how Abhi gets violent with Kairav but immediately stops when Akshu pulls him back.

If you were looking for a compassionate, sophisticated, civilized doctor who can love but not sacrifice his integrity and his duty to his fellow humans for that love, you have to look elsewhere than Dr Abhimanyu Birla.

I had actually stopped seeing the show regularly after the Ruby track but somehow still have an interest to see where they go bcz of being kind of attached to the show.

See, I am not saying Abhimanyu Birla was perfect Pre-Tilak. Of course, he was too intense. If a guy approached me with such intensity in the beginning itself and starts assuming and claiming things I have never said out loud, I would be creeped out, not fall in love.

But I have to say, this is where I was willing to consider the craziness that is ITV. They want to bring in this character with a force and the writing is obviously bad. So, you discount it. Actually the love at first sight didn't bother me at all. It's fine according to me. Someone who uses music as a medium to escape from his real life falling in love with a melodius voice only to be dragged by it to meet the owner of the voice and fell for her is very filmy fairy tale story. Again, they showed him as a flawed character and we did not have any clarity at all with his background then. So, there was this hope all this will be explained and a nice arc would be developed, but they didn't. I still am not able to see Abhimanyu's intense trauma or the lack of love in his life. And of course, there was this Harshad Chopda charm which is a major factor and the trust that since he chose it, this might be worth it. And I loved some of the romantic shots between the leads. I found them having really good chemistry as in past tense. Now it's so ruined. Akshara acting like a kid and Abhimanyu babying her is just eww. 🤢

Also, I didn't feel like he has a temper issue until Tilak. Of course he detested his father but he always controlled himself from lashing out. He spoke with no affection and with detachment but he never raised his voice. He was so reserved and didn't even express any emotions.

Post Tilak is when everything came out. That is when I figured this man is not hero worthy at all. He is mostly an uber privileged spoiled brat who has always gotten everything he ever wanted and for the first time, something/someone he wanted rejected him and his male ego got hurt probably and he started acting out. And that's when you see, how problematic he is. He is self obsessed, self righteous, super arrogant. He and Aarohi are too similar. The only difference is Aarohi doesn't claim to be a great person but Abhimanyu through his righteousness does. His lecturing of everyone is just annoying to the core. Since post Tilak all his actions have been very repulsive to me, except for when he ignored her after she rejected him at his home. I was happy that he didn't try to force her. That was at least a good thing but he went ahead and ruined that too.

And when he started treating her badly and hurting her because of her rejection, I knew he is gonna take a route worse than that of Kartik's. Now this is the arc. He will treat Akshara well as long as everything in his life is going well and good, otherwise she is gonna bear the brunt of it all. It could even be under the guise that he is trying to protect her

Abhimanyu doesn't just have anger management issues that can be traced to a traumatic childhood. Like you say that is non-existent, what abhi fans claim in order to excuse his unacceptable behaviour. I not only not like the way he is idealized, I don't even like the way his love is idealized. Frankly, I don't like the way he loves. Not being a teenager I find this kind of love distasteful.

I didn't have any pre-ideas about HC, so just seeing Abhimanyu as he is shown. No idea how they'll develop him ahead, bcz its itv. But looks from what is selling, there'll be more of this type of behavior and drama.

Well, sad to hear that you've lost some of that love for HC because of this show.

If this show isn't what you were looking for then no point in sticking around if it is just going to cause you a headache.

I had my hopes too that things would get better that the writing would be better after the confession but its not up to the mark. Abhira are still very immature. I see glimpses of growth and probably because of that I am still watching. It would be wonderful if the writers somehow combined season 1 and 2 and gave Akshara the arc of being sherni like her mom when needed but still have that calmness like her grandmother to bring everyone together. Abhimanyu to get the bwst parts of Kartik and Naitik and go from immature to mature with understanding of family in mind. Maybe I am too foolhardy in believing such things will happen considering how the writing has been.

Hope you find something fun and more your style to enjoy!

THE TRUTH BRO.

The Harshad in Bepannah, that man, that actor has now been completely wrecked for me at his constant crying in the show and stupid illogical expressions.

Aditya Hooda died when Abhimanyu Birla ran behind a stranger whose voice he heard from 2 kms away 🤣😭
