My nani used to keep peacock feathers outside of her home, as it symbolizes truth and prosperity. Manjari tying these feathers outside of the Birla household is paving way for Akshu to arrive as their bahu, who will change the family dynamics and bring love to a family that is otherwise broken in many ways. And with this prosperity will come the revelations of many hidden truths from the past. Only once the past is addressed can people heal and move forward... and that is exactly where the story seems to be headed.
I once read that the eye in a peacock feather also represents the divine wisdom or the third eye of Krishna. The third eye possesses knowledge that no one else has... thereby representing that Manjari is keeping a truth that has been hidden from all.
My last take is tying the feathers back to the O Khanna song. Krishna used to cleanse Radha's feet with peacock feathers, as it was a representation of the purity and infinite nature of their love. We have seen Abhira analogized to both Parvati- Shiv and Radha-Krishna. Manjari talking about their love while tying feather again shows the nature of their love...
