This is old hat, yaar - S2 dekha hai toh you'll understand they throw red herrings everywhere and most of them never show up again. They threw in multiple eyewitnesses (including Akhilesh) and video proof as evidence that Naira was still alive, giving us hope that Kartik would find at least one of them and not marry Vedika. In the end none of them amounted to anything and he did marry Vedika
