I know it won't change anything but my mother once told me, there is nothing wrong in trying. So here is my last chance to this...
Note: This might come out a negative post but this is about story and not any actor.
I don't have regret of watching this serial because no matter what, the actors made it worth the watch. Believe me when I say this, you have a cast which many die to have but unfortunately maybe you guys are not using their full potential.
I watched it for Harshad Chopda and I can proudly say with a script like this, he just proved why he is one of the best in ITV and called as a perfectionist. Because you can't just name one genre that he can't nail. So thank you Mr Harshad Chopda for making it worth the watch.
But let's get back to the story part and makers.
Let's start with Abhimanyu Birla.... Because this character had the potential to be the most complex yet the perfect and adarsh beta character but I don't know why you guys took a bullet train in which could have been slow and beautiful and the best transition phase.
You introduced us to a man who has seen so many sham of a marriage to believe in one. All around him he has seen a loveless marriage and his belief was so much crushed that he believes that pain is the synonym of love. He dotes on his mother, have a rough relationship with his father, shares an adorable relationship with his siblings. But still, he lacks inner peace.
But then, he heard a voice.... A voice so soulful that it relaxed him when he had an anxiety attack. He wanted to run away yet could not and just get attracted to it ... Run towards it like his life depends on it. And then he met a girl.... The girl who sang the song which fills him with peace. He felt attracted... He wanted to know more. He does not need his Bluetooth anymore because her voice cures him. But was it love? No! It was the first step towards it. But you guys jumped to it.
You guys brushed aside his insecurities, his pain, years of trauma in a matter of few seconds. And exactly what it took? For him to fall in love.
Have you ever wondered, a guy who did not believe in love, how can he accept his rising heartbeats, strange feelings, the heat on his cheeks as love? Given that he is a surgeon and driven by practical points. And where was that confusion, self doubt, pulling himself back as he feels that he is attracted to Akshara? Where was that feeling helpless in front of his own feelings?
I really wanted to ask.... Why did you rushed the most beautiful transition? If you wanted him to fall for Akshara at first sight (no one falls in love at first sight but whatever) you could have made him fun loving, a guy who believes that magic indeed happens, that love is not something alienated or a word so cursed that it can only give u pain.
And if you now say that he did not fall in love and just went ahead with marriage then that's the most absurd thing to happen. For God sake, all he knows about Akshara is that she is a simple girl, kind, have a nice voice, sacrificial too but what other ? What about her bad sides? The flaws? Her education? Her likes .. are what? Methi daana? Her family? He knows nothing about her aur yahan rishta ho gya. Dhanya hai aap log.
Tbh, you guys should really thanks Harshad sir. He made it kind of believable about it.
Next comes - Akshara: I guess, her character is written really nice tbh. For character growth we have to see further but from what we are looking now and how you guys are following the OG even after introducing different characteristics in Abhimanyu, I kind of have little to no hope. Nd whatever I think about Akshara, I have made a post on her. If any forum members wanted to read it
Then a character who could be beautifully shown and could be used as a character who breaks stereotypes... Aarohi:
The girl have gone through a lot and there is nothing wrong if it turned her bitter. Everyone deals with their trauma differently but you guys are showcasing her as a person who have no morals and ethics. It could have been understandable if she did not liked Akshara and stop relating to her. But blaming her for Sirat's death till now shows that she just grew physically and not mentally. It good to be competitive but degrading the one who did not want like competitions, wants to live a simple life is nothing but a low behaviour. She wants to be number one always and okay to feel bad when she looses but it's disturbing and also lil toxic when she blamed others for ruining her 'happiness'. That too when the other have no idea about the truth. Nd its really not ambitious as a doctor to went to hospital to see a doctor she finds hot and wants him to find time to meet her and toxic when all she wants to save her image in front of a man and not keeps her duty as a doctor first. She might not like or even HATE Akshara but she was having a panic attack. Nd thats too bad to have a character trait.
Instead you could have shown her not relating to Akshara's habits and nature hence she maintains a distance. She respects herself over her love for any man. She could be shown respecting her work and have ethics...
Tbh, Abhimanyu and Aarohi story would be a nice catch . Two doctors, one who is established nd other who is trying to make it in the big world, facing challenges, in between when they fall in love managing the time, some frustrations, some light moments, fighting, loving yet always there for each other but this much simple story might be too much of a complex story for you.
There is already stigma around two people in same profession marrying each other (it's generally in law profession but you could have shown how life of doctors who become life partner can be. It could be a contrast of Mahima and her husband story)
And Akshara and Abhimanyu story is nice. Two defected people finding their peace in music and connecting through it. But you guys are wasting in misunderstanding which could have been solved by taking a simple name. Waise I don't know about ITV par asal zindagi mein 3 page ka bio data jaata hai aaj kal aur yahan par naam ko lekar confusion hai) and unnecessary villains.
You could have slowed down the falling in love part but you decided to butcher it and could just end the marriage drama but decided to board Magadh express for it.
Birlas are tbh a very relatable family but add positivity. Atleast add love in some and when it's not there in other, add mutual respect.
Goenkas ... Are still orthodox? The shaadi convo for Akshara and Aarohi now is proof and today fight between Kairav and his bade papa. But it's true too. I have seen this but this could be a route for u to break another stereotype.
