Hey, guys!
I'm back with my episodic review. 😛

1. Sister Loveee
I know, people really dislike Gayu's character and I feel like the un-needed love triangle really helped build up the angst, but I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge that the whole love triangle didn't dent the sister's relationship. I'm thankful Gayu wasn't turned into a conniving, plotting evil mastermind. And I quite liked the sister's bonding throughout the episode. Be it selecting mehendi patterns or helping each other get through the day, it was wonderful to see. Pre-leap, Naira was really insecure of Gayu's importance in her father's life (after being raised in a nuclear set up, who would blame her?) and hated sharing stuff with Mishti. It's endearing to see these characters grow up to be each other's backbone. Also, I think Kanchi looked really pretty yesterday.

2. Jamaisa se baat karte hai
Shaurya wasn't able to make it for the mama bhaath rasam and the first thing Vishambhar wanted to do was talk to Naitik and explain the situation. Rajshree started explaining herself and Naitik very simply told her - No one can influence him against them. They are family and will always be. I love this dynamic and how they continue to be so close.

3. Mami kar lenge
Mama ho ya mami, hai to dono nanihaal ke hi. Varsha has been through hell and back and she's stuck with the M's all along. She's earned her place as the rightful daughter of that house and her getting emotional at doing the rasam for Naira was a nice touch. Naira is practically her daughter and she would never do anything to intentionally hurt her. And it was rightly reiterated by the entire family, that Shaurya would have dropped everything to be there, but he just couldn't help it. S&M families have this inherent understanding that has come with years of togetherness. Also, loved that Varsha thanked the family for not differentiating between beta and bahu (Another situation which exposed the paradoxically traditional ways of the modern Goenka's).

4. Tum chup raho
When Kartik started to butt in when the whole mama bhaath fiasco happened, I absolutely loved how Naitik shut him up. While Manish and Akhilesh frowned, I just smiled. Cause this was going to be another beautiful journey - from Sir to Papa. Naitik was so on point there - if it was Naksh, he would have done the same, which goes to show he's wholeheartedly accepted Kartik as his son. It's scenes like this where I miss Akshara, cause the Akshara-Kartik dynamic would have been fun to explore. I loved their scenes earlier.

Overall, there wasn't much that happened in the episode, except for GTD behaving all hoity-toity. I don't like focussing on the negatives, so I chose to highlight a few moments that stood out for me.

P.S. Looking forward to Naksh beating the crap out of Creep.

That's it for today, folks. (Drum roll. Exit.😉)

Once again an awesome review by you.

One of the things I really appreciate about yeh rishta is its positivity. While in other shows except the leads and maybe a couple of people who are very close to them, everyone turns negative for a small time yrkkh is not like that, in 8 years they have been only few villans like the guy stalking Naira, the group who Naira had kidnapped by, Naman and creep. Even these few, once gone went forever (excluding creep) not like you sometimes get to see that one villan comes again and again, so yeh rishta is something that is a breath of fresh air among all the negativity. Coming to Gayu's, Kaira are not the only reason I disliked her. Her behaviour on other things, like getting jealous on Akshara's and Naira's relation was also another, like you said Naira as a teenager got insecure about Gayu and Naitik because she came nuclear family, she wasn't able to share her father, which made sense. On the other hand Gayu was shown feeling bad seeing Akshara and Naira spent time together, but why should Gayu feel bad. Naira is Akshara's daughter and Gayu knew that, she knew how much the family yearned for Naira. So her feeling jealous was off. Comparatively Gayu's charcater has improved from what it was. The sister bonding scenes of yesterday were great. Though I didn't like Gayu's advice actually, when she tells Naira to take permission from the Goenkas for the dance academy. The only thing that came to my mind was, "why should she?", Goenkas have servants to do everything, the only job a Goenka lady has is to look pretty, which for Naira/Shivangi is a natural talent. So what she is going to do sitting at home doing nothing, even if there was work at the house, Naira will be the daughter in law of the house, not a servant whose job is to do the work, but a member of the family who if wants to help with the chores can and if she doesn't want to shouldn't be forced. Naira is not asking them to open a dance academy for her, her parents have already done that. So I didn't get why she would have to take permission for the dance academy from the Goenkas, the academy was made by her parents money, she is the one teaching dance in it, where do the Goenkas fit in. Yes she can inform them but bot ask permission.

Maheshwari's are a very loving family. The sab ko apna bana lena type family. They are very friendly and understanding group of people. I adore their bond with both Naitik and Karthik. Yes, it is wonderful to see that their bond with Naitik has suffered no damaged, in fact has strengthened after Akshara's demise.

That whole scene was really sweet, it showed the difference in the two families, while S and M believe in daughter in law and son being equal. Goenkas thoughts seem to be way back.

I liked that part too, where Naitik asked Karthik not to interfere because it gave such a haq jataoing feel. While Manish and creep's bond is full of fakeness with all the ji ji ji, Naitik and Karthik's bond is more of father and son. I too really loved Akshara Karthik scenes.

Yesterday's epi got on my nerves due to gtd, her and creeps screen space should be cut down.

I wish Naira would have hugged Karthik, while hugging Mansi and Luv Kush she could make it look like it was accidental or in the flow and Waise bhi they are getting married, so no one would mind a hug.

okk firstly they actually made gayu's character better after luv triangle ended so yes i adore the whole gayu-naira-mishti bond.they kinda ruined her character during that triangle track coz the last thing u could do with a well educated cultured sensible n working girl is to make spineless n thats exactly they made her.just to potray her as sum victim of god-knows-what-circumstances they made her abla nari.before luv triangle track ends i nvr got any sis vibes from her side..she gets upset if her lahenga isnt ready n even after naira gifting her own lahenga she feels jlous seeing her in kartik's fav color like duh.she felt insecure abt kartik-naira she felt insecure of mmother-daughter,brother-sister,father-daughter n a girl's relationship with her family who stayed away for 7yrs.being the elder one, being thr for like 7yrs,being getting all the love n nvr letting her miss her parents if sumone gets insecure of her younger sis at every pt who needs love more that too in a matured age then obviously nobody ll like her but now honestly shes quiet likable.she supports naira in all odds, advices her as elder sis is sumthing really heart warming.plus i hv always adored naira mishtu bond.arna is one really talented kid.other than this the whole epi was bleh.loved how naira has chnged over time.she still stands for what is right but now she thinks before speaking n she doesnt disrespect ppl just to prove her point.i m still carving for sum papa-princess scene.writer plzz give us.

Totally agree. They wanted to create obstacles with the Kaira love story, since that is the selling point of the show and in that process they showed a well-educated girl having zero perception. It was really annoying. But thankfully Gayu didn't become a hardcore villain. The thing was the writers wanted us to sympathise with Gayu and for that they made her behave really stupidly - getting insecure of your position in the family because of someone else - I get sibling rivalry, but this wasn't that. It was hard to relate to Gayu because she was being unreasonable in most scenes - like that haar walla scene. Now, Gayu's character is compassionate and really behaves like the elder sister she is supposed to be - advising Naira, covering for her, teasing the two of them. I like that the bond between the sister's is intact.

As far as the rest of the episode, you're right. I'm kinda getting annoyed with their need to create drama in each wedding ceremony. I really want the wedding to go off without a hitch. There cannot be so much going wrong in one wedding. 😆

And yes, more than focussing on the negativity that Dadi is showering in abundance - I'd really like to watch Naira enjoying her last few days with her family. Naitik - Naira, Naksh - Naira, Naira feeling the void that has been cast by her mother's absence - There is so much to show instead of these unnecessary vighnas.

Exactly, these highlighted scenes were the treat to eyes and ears started with mehendi ceremony.
Sighania's and maheswari's always give family relationship goals. Full of positivity for eye watching every character of both the family and their bonds to each other.

Well written!!

Loved your take, Tanaya! 😊
Yesterday's episode was a little tiresome to tell you the truth. Dadi's character is particularly vexing and she was there in abundance last night.
Honestly speaking, it is starting to look contrived how every small rasm is running into problems. Especially last night, the mama not being present looked like it was added by the makers just so there could be one more hurdle. It didn't look very believable or natural. I don't know if any one else agrees.

So kudos to you for focusing on the positives! 😊

I agree with what you said about Gayu. I have grown to like her now. The problem previously was that nobody could relate to her because she was shown to be so unaware and clueless about everything. But now I am loving the sisterly bond. Actually the whole sibling dynamic is just very endearing.

"Paradoxically traditional ways of the modern Goenkas" 👏. Loved how you put it.

I am very much hoping we get to see a carefree and genuinely happy Kaira, enjoying their wedding for a while instead of them constantly coming up with solutions and manaofying the ever critical dadi.

You have covered the rest of the positives so well. I have nothing to add.

I agree. Too many problems happening on the show, in every single ceremony. I remember A&N's wedding also N was super mad at her for some reason. I really don't want K&N to go into their wedding with any misunderstanding. Their wedding is one day they'll cherish for the rest of their lives, I really hope it's more about Kaira and less about random problems. It's kinda repetitive.

YESSS! I love sibling bonding. It's so much more fun to watch than all this. I feel like I've only enjoyed the bachelors party because that was problem free. Every other ceremony has been K&N solving issues or massaging GTD's ego.
