The episode starts with Sidhanth trying his best to evade his father's questions but Prabhakar is relentless and Sidhanth finds himself dumfounded. He asks Prabhakar if someones told him something, and not to believe what others say. Sidhanth claims if they were in fact drugs he wouldn't have made it, but he admits that they were in fact drugs. Prabhakar's face sinks, he is so hurt at the prospect of his son putting his own life in danger. Prabhakar claims that Sidhanth drank vish to hide the truth, to distort a lie to the truth. Prabhakar echoes Anushka's words about Sidhanth's life not being solely his, that he has to answer to his family. And yet Prabhakar concedes that he is thankful Sidhanth told him the truth, indicating Sidhanth knows the difference between right and wrong, and in that unhe Sidhanth pe abhi umeed hai. A powerful moment, but I expected more from Prabhakar's turmoil. Prabhakar seemed to drop the ball a little too easily and I'm not sure if this moment will be revisited. But that was just me.
The next morning Sidhanth calls Sweety Ji as his own bike is a dud 😆 Sweety Ji tells him of course he needs a taxi and not a mechanic, but Sidhanth discloses that where he's going this morning he doesn't want to go alone. AWWW so Sidhanth like me can't let Sweety Ji go, YES 😆
Anushka and Kartik are seen in the car and Kartik pretends to be upset about the deal going south all because KK trusts Prabhakar the most. Anushka tries to console Kartik and Kartik seems to be inconsolable. He tells Anushka that he has something in mind even if it means getting rid of Prabhakar's interference, Anushka gives him a slight look but seems to not have read too much into Kartik's mood. He changes the conversation quickly but I thought Anu was more perceptive than this.
Anushka enters the office to see Sidhanth and Sweety Ji chatting it up. Anushka tells him he's so excited to start and he quips that she must be even more excited as she's come to welcome him. They share their little quips, with Sidhanth telling Sweety Ji Anu's jealous of him. Sweety Ji tells Sidhanth that there is no way that Anushka is jealous of him. Sidhanth claims that Anushka being KK's daughter couldn't do achieve anything, but him being himself has proved himself of being capable of anything. My goodness, iss bandhe ki soch kahan se kahan jaati hai 😆
KK enters but walks right past a waiting Sidhanth and Sweety Ji. Sweety Ji claims there will be bloodshed today but Sidhanth says that not to worry, he's here now and the day will correct itself. Srikanth finds Sidhanth and asks him to come in with him. Sweety Ji bids Sidhanth adieu NOOO 😭😭 He tells Sidhanth he'll meet so many others, but never to forget him. Sidhanth tells him there's no way as there's no one like Sweety Ji. NAHIIINNN, Sweety Ji aap wapas aa jaooo. Pleaseee. Sidhanth you're dumb I can't believe you let him go. It was a good goodbye scene, but I as a viewer deserve to see Sweety Ji and his bromance with Sidhanth in my life.
Prabhakar approaches KK and they discuss money matters. KK is trying to figure out how Prabhakar's intuition could have been wrong. He's actually getting to the crux of the math and ensuring that it wasn't Prabhakar's fault in the first place. Another consultant says it wasn't one person's fault, instead, it was a team failure. Heera Sanyal claims the problem is how much responsibility KK has given Prabhakar, but KK hears none of it. Even Prabhakar tells him that Kartik is correct, but KK won't let Prabhakar go. KK then assures him that he is going to start a new business venture to which Prabhakar is behind him 100%. So their relationship isn't as shaky, I will wholly admit to being wrong in the hairline fracture that could have occurred as a result of the deal going south. It seems KK has become more consumed about how this deal could not have happened for him. He's trying to run through every avenue of mistakes that could have happened.
Srikanth sits with Sidhanth as they wait for next steps. Sidhanth seems to be looking at the weird collection of artifacts Sri keeps in his office. They have a small conversation and Sidhanth makes it clear he doesn't want to be like his father. Anushka enters the cabin and tells Sri if KK had listened to her Sidhanth wouldn't be where he is now.
Anushka interrupts KK who is lost in thought and he so lovingly claims that once he sees her all his tension dissipates. He tells her to interrupt at least a couple of times a day so his battery could recharge. Anushka tells him that she knows he's still upset about the deal and he tells her that she doesn't know her father that well yet. He's not worried about the deal not working out, it's the how that's been bothering him, how did this deal not work out? It's not even that his foundation of belief in Prabhakar has shaken, that doesn't even seem to be an option at this point. KK's disbelief here lies wholly in how this deal didn't become his. Interesting. He's not averse to losing but he also can't believe how he lost.
KK tells Anushka that he offered Prabhakar's son a job, having forgotten Sidhanth's name. I hope Sid doesn't find out about this as his ego would be in disrepair 😆 This prompts Anushka to say Sidhanth's name and KK claims that he's offered him the job yet Sidhanth hasn't come to see him yet. He tells Anushka to call for Sidhanth but she hesitates and KK asks her if there is a problem?
Prabhakar is trying to do damage control and wants to stop trading at the moment and makes it happen. Kartik finds Prabhakar and Kartik talks about a photo Prabhakar has in his office with KK. Prabhakar says he remembers that Kartik wanted to come in that picture but KK had told a young Kartik the picture was for friend's only. Interesting, Kartik has been wanting to share the space that Prabhakar has claimed in KK's long, for longe than we thought. I liked this little detail, it shows more insight into who and how Kartik is in relation to KK-Prabhakar's friendship. He seems to stick out even when he wants to be included more than anything. It's entirely possible that Kartik in the past has tried to be amiable and wanted to fit into the friendship, but it may not have worked, he may have been disregarded, and that's why Kartik feels the best course of option is to get rid of Prabhakar altogether. It's not even the friendship that Kartik has a problem with, it's the amount of responsbility and weight that comes with it. KK's confidante is Prabhakar, he trusts him incredibly so. And it's obvious that Kartik wants to be that for his father. I like this dynamic, I find it interesting and refreshing. It seems Kartik isn't interested in the business the way most grey characters seem to be written as, his motivation is to shift his father's confidence from Prabhakar to himself. At least for now.
Kartik tells Prabhakar that the deal didn't happen because of Prabhakar and that it could still happen if Prabhakar were to remove himself from the equation. Kartik says that KK and Prabhakar have such a strong friendship, Kartik tells Prabhakar him claiming his judgment was wrong was correct and that deep down KK understands this as well, which is why he's hired Sidhanth. Sidhanth overhears this.
Precap - KK invites Sidhanth with open arms and Sidhanth is seen sitting with Anu, opposite KK saying he wants to tell something to KK. I wonder if he'll say he doesn't want to be his father and instead wants his own, separate position in the company. We know Sidhanth doesn't revel in being in his father's shadow and taking his father's position would mean exactly that. He wants to make his own name and put himself on the map, separate of his father. So he may ask to not collaborate with his father at all? Interesting.
Overall a better episode than yesterday in terms of character dynamics being well written and the plot being easier to follow. Whereas yesterday we were overwhelmed with information, today was slower and the focus was wholly on the after effects. The episode flowed better and the direction didn't seem as forced with the scene to scene transition today.
