I feel vindicated now. Because I always knew; regardless of how childish and immature aru is, she always comes through for everyone when it matters the most. How sweet was it that she tried to cheer up her husband? She tugs him around like puppy then even bullies him but she is his biggest support during difficult times. This is the kind of relationship I like watching, couples who banter and argue but always there to lend a shoulder each other. This is what marriages should be like

Hindi serial heroines are more interested in doing samaj seva, but this kind of social service is much needed on indian television. Aru is striving for modernization in a village, clean washrooms and safe places for defecation is mandatory if we want a more civilized and healthy society. She brought forth important points and dragging in those shameless boys further highlighted the risk the village women are facing. What is ironic is that villagers say bathrooms in homes are impure but they can put themselves in danger by going outside, not to mention spreading impurities all over their village. More than hypocrisy, it is due to limited knowledge and myopic thinking. Aru can bring so many improvement to this village with her broadened knowledge. After all, we need to move along with changing times because evolution is important for any functional society.

Aru and mukhi's conversation was so heart-warming. I love Aru's undying spirit, her desire to aim for the best- all these qualities makes up her occasional moments of childishness(which is only because of her husband) I like couples, who work together, involve the others in their life, look out for everyone else but find solace in each other at the end of the day. Their conversation at night was such a normal couple thing to do. Sometimes the normal, drama free scenes are nicest.

Pom,

I did love the scene between Aru and Mukhi. They are called Shiv and Parvati. Shiv ji is known to live in himalaya and parvati left her riches (so did his first wife, earlier birth of Parvati, Sati), to be with the guy.

Mukhi needed someone like Aru who wants to earn a lot of wealth but not just for accumulation but for creating a better life for others. (Remember that woman who used to live on street whom she used to feed out of her meagre income?).

Really like your post about our village toilet issue,I think Aru needs a computer/laptop then she can study or find out more info about this matter and show this to Mukhi.

amboli does not have network either, so what is the point of a laptop? aru won't be able to access the internet. which is what I mean by progressing with time. we cannot hold on to our archaic beliefs and still keep up with the changing world. people's mindset needs to change.
