Spartan,
I will come back now to your original post as I promised. I LOVED LOVED LOVED your post.
I will first put a disclaimer that I tend to write lengthy posts so this might be one of them too. Read at your own risk (of loosing time if nothing else).
I noticed even you felt that your post was lengthy. While if you see just the sheer size it may be right. But I feel I will rather read a long piece which is saying something in every line than a shorter one which says nothing,
Now back to the point made in your post, I agree that it is indeed going to be a journey of two individuals who are going to learn a lot from each other and grow together. Every good relationship enriches your life (not only marriage).
But I will however not like them to change how Mukhi looks. I will agree with your points about growth but will explicitly tell my reason for my belief.
1. Our society already pays way too much importance to how a person looks than what they are. So fat this show was breaking these stereotype. Aru should like Mukhi for what he is rather than how he looks. I liked the fact we are getting to watch Mukhi and not Eijaz in the show.
2. I remember how Mukhi did not try to change how Aru dresses up in one of the initial episodes, it was a welcome change compared to most others shows. It is indeed fit if Aru does not try to change him, at least in this superficial manner.
3. A large section of our country lives in villages. A lot of the men are from Mukhi's generation and social strata. They DO dress like him. We city dwellers have somehow forgotten the fact that there is a big section of population out there which not just exists but has as many intersting stories to tell as we do. Mukhi represent that. I do not want him to be placed in the "also ran Male Leads who look like models.
I know it is tempting to watch someone as good looking as Eijaz in a different get up, but we have seen all those Urban young guys, I think it is time to see some good old, "Son of soil from a village.
Cheers!
