It was good to see Aru refused. Unlike other soap heroines, who instead of confiding such secrets to their family members and trying to seek their help, try to handle anything from murder investigation to getting their siblings married.

Aru agreed it was a bad situation but was not ready to sacrifice herself the moment she realized her sister ran away.

While the story used the bride swap, it was done in much more realistic reactions.

And sad to note that what Aru's mother did is not as unheard of as we would like to think.

I m kind of surprised that Aru said no to this marriage ...i thought she would do it for cliental sake ...
Saying no was really a realistic way of putting things...

Aru didn't lose her morals just for the sake of a client. I'm glad that this show didn't stray away from their realistic manner of showing things.
I feel bad that Aru has such a horrible sister and mother. She deserves better.😡
But overall, Aru saying no to the marriage at first and asking Mukhi's opinion stole my heart. ❤️

Agreed. That was very realistic and heart warming to see a FL who says no.
I feel bad for Mishri as well. This is a horrible situation all around.

Yes. At last we got to see how a real girl of that age and background will react in that situation and not just imagination of how a "girl should be" written by people catering to demands of stories set in 17th century.

I think it was not just Ekta shows. I guess Gul Khan makes worse stereotypes of heroines than anyone else.

Very well said!👏👏 To be honest, I initially thought that Aru would've sat down onto the mandap herself without consulting anyone like all sacrificing heroines...glad to see she still has her head screwed on! Poor girl has had to endure betrayal from her nikamma boyfriend "You're always class topper!"...and now her sister has done the worst. Aru herself did not trust her sister at the beginning but gave in to her parent's prwssure...and now that their decision turnd out to be wrong, they want to throw her into the fire!

Glad that she asked for Mukhi's opinion. At least she believes that both bride and groom's opinions matter - unlike her parents who don't care about either👎🏼

Fair point. It is not just Aru who is getting married without her consent. For all practical purpose, Mukhi does not want to marry Aru too.

Ona side note, the guy who ran away with her money was not her boyfriend. In fact, I clearly remember her referring to him as "bhai jaisa".
