Hatim's second coming

| Time for change: Rahil Aza | After playing Prince Hatim in Star Plus' Hatim for over a year, Rahil Azam has finally decided to cast the swords aside and take on a new role. This time, it's a modern adaptation of a character entrenched in one of our biggest mythological tales.
Confirming his entry in the family drama Saarrthi (Star Plus), Azam said, "I am playing the role of Suraj who is the modern-day Karan from the Mahabharata.
Suraj is brought in to help the Kauravas (played by Nawab Shah's family) crack a password set by Arjun from the Pandavas' side."
Did he have second thoughts about being part of a multistarrer after playing a lead role in his previous show? He says, "I was a bit apprehensive initially, but made up my mind the minute I sat down with the scriptwriters.
The character is a lone ranger who has an interesting past. Suraj has many shades which the audience will gradually get to see."
But will the audience be ready to see him without all those stunts? "They better be. I have taken my time to get out of Hatim's skin," he says.
tushar.joshi@mid-day.com | Who is Rahil Aza?
• Has played a musician on Zee TV's Ek Tukda Chand Ka • Played an angry young man in Bhabhi (Star Plus) • Was seen as a psychopath in Kahiin Kisi Roz | Problem question: Why is Ashmit a pyscho? 😒 Background research: He has played angry pyscho roles before! 😲 Thesis: If Ashmit has played a pyscho role before, then he will play a pyscho again, because pyschos like repeating thing since they're wacko! | Observation: Ashmit likes playing pyshco roles! 🤔 Conclusion: Once a pyscho, always a pyscho! 😆😆 |
