Why even in the 90's , even today the girl's family is expected to keep their heads bowed before the groom's family. So Preeti thinking that Rakesh should ask forgiveness despite the major mistake being of Maheshwaris is a fact of those days. That's how people were taught to think.
But Naina's dialogue that it would give the Maheshwaris free license to taunt them for the rest of the lives evenned it out. I appreciate how cvs showed the mirror to us that a temporary solution like that only leaves the bride in a greater mess for the rest of her lives.
And coming to comparing Naina and Sameer's efforts, I don't think that I can ever say one did more or one did less.
But there's one thing which I can surely say, what Sameer did, fighting with his family , Making arrogant lots like them come to Naina's house at midnight, no guy would do this.
No doubt Sameer got stuck up on Rakesh asking forgiveness despite everything, but I must give it tp him that he wasn't in the sane state of mind. Not that it was correct or justified whenever he talked of breaking the relationship, but other guys, even in their sane state mind would have broken the relationship much earlier.
Such guys are hard to find who are ready to fight so hard to give his wife's family the respect they deserve.
Would love to know your views on this as well
