Naina's words always contradict her actions. Her words to Preeti should have been to Sameer.

She wants to help him succeed but since the college started has she ever done anything to encourage him like he has done so many times? Also, she fails to give him courage when most needed, rather she reacts negatively like during that phone call, so Sameer ends up making a decision based on that.

Her positive reaction during dandiya helped Sameer. That's the difference.

Maybe now she will also tone down and realize Sameer also needs encouragement and motivation just like her.

Hope Sameer stops reacting to Naina's initial reactions and always find courage to utter the truth to her, even if its horrible... this is a lesson for both.
