Not sure where is this pic of salman is coming from but as far as i remember, salman is always known for showing off his body in all his films. Even Maine Pyar Kiya and for that matter Biwi ho to aisi also showed him shirtless.
At that time dole shole were not so popular... So whatever body building salman did was the best in hollywood. he got better with time but even in 90s he was known for his body and all young boys would aspire to have a body like him.
But yes i agree sameer already as a body like 90s ka salman...
And he has always been shown as a street smart person, so it was highly un creative to show him fall for such stupid oil
