Naina-Swati: The friendship that was dragging along & let a cruel

I am new on this forum & have become a fan of YUDKBH recently.

Just wanted to post my thoughts on Naina-Swati friendship dynamics.

We were introduced to these two girls as 16 yr old best friends. Naina has from the start maintained that Swati has stood up for her when no one else did & has been her pillar of strength. But apart from Swati scolding Samundit after the bet phase & recent break up phase we have hardly seen her be Naina's support.

Not only Naina's own family members like taiji, her father & classmates even Swati has been shown considering Naina as inferior & making fun of her. Initially it was unclear but after the GS election episodes it has become crystal clear how much Swati has been secretly been jealous of Naina.

After Sameer's entry, Swati like everyone admired the hero & dreamt of being his heroine. No harm in that. Even Naina felt the same & harboured a crush on Sam. However she never planned to tell her feelings to him or anyone else. She was happy just admiring him from afar & helping him from sidelines. It was only after Sam showed interest in her during the bet phase that she started revealing her liking for him. Swati just dreamt of Sameer without having any meaningful interactions with him.

Naina- Sameer had a bond even before the bet phase. That is why he was so hurt when she misunderstood him & believed him to be a theif. He had developed expectations from her that she would trust him & hence his anger & need for revenge from her. Ideally if he had no feelings for Naina then he should have taken revenge from Arjun & Rakesh directly. But due to his previous soft corner for Naina his anger & vengeance became focused on her. Hence began the bet phase.

Swati-naina-sameer dynamics during bet phase:

Though initially unclear but after many rewatchs it feels to me that Swati was not completely unaware of the NS dynamics as she claimed. She always had a subconscious inkling about them. Hence her need to always view any interaction between NS as Sameer wanting to befriend Naina to come closer to Swati. Sam was always a bindass guy so if he liked a girl he would not need any help by trying to befriend his crush's bff. Sam chose to do so later after his initial attempts to gain Naina's attentions failed. Swati being the smart girl that she is still deliberately ignored all the signs of SN actually liking each other. Not only that she would deliberately lie to N about things that Sam must have done to get her attention. I think she was subconsciously trying to eliminate N as her competitor. But she could no more ignore reality when she overheard NS telephone call. She was heartbroken & jealous as to how come Naina gained the attention of the famous handsome rich guy. But she forgave Naina. But she still was envious of her. Hence her probing Naina regarding Sam's shadiwala pyaar tests & deliberately trying to undermine N's trust in Sam. Here Sam had an ulterior motive that we knew but if he had genuinely been in love with Naina then Swati's interference was not helpful at all.

Post bet revealation she did genuinely feel bad for Naina I think. But as SN relationship developed again & withstood test of time her feelings of resentment against Naina also increased secretly. Sam is every body's BF goals so when she saw how Sam always supported Naina & how her own Bf munnawas treating her in comparison her insecurities & jealousy against Naina increased. The neglect & ignorance shown by her friends group during GS elections only acted as a matchstick to the explosive feelings building inside her. Otherwise if it was only about the election campaign thing she would have vented her feelings to Naina & group. But the level to which she stooped to see Naina losing shows that this was not just about the GS but an outburst of all the pentup resentment against Naina.

I hope Naina does tell the gang about her betrayal & breaks the friendship with her. No amount of guilt & forgiveness on Naina's side, can rebuild the lost trust.

Regarding ur post...i did mention briefly in one post here similar to ur points...Swatis vindictive...revengeful for what has to be hers, it went to Naina...!!Inshort Swati was finding peace n respite in Nainas loss ...She wanted Naina to loose by hook or by crook...The hatred stems from the pent up emotions, anger n frustration that she kept on harbouring against her friend for so long...With each n every achievemnt that Naina got or praises of love from Sam n gang ...that much insecurity n jealousy was building up in Swati bit by bit...!!

So GS was just a bahana...but the reason for hatred is the ill feelings she had been hidng inside her since years...n that was heating up in intensity...Su jus gve air to her hidden thoughts ...but Swati was the one who bought the facade out by HERSELF !!!

I myself cnt understand how she can be redeemed aftr tis n how is it possible for Naina to forgive n gel with her as if nothing happened...!! Cracks hve already developed n it cant b patched , joined or filled together..

I loved your post, it gives us an insight into Swati's traits from the starting and you have analysed very well. I completely agree with each and every point.

So for me the relation definitely changes even though Naina will forgive Swathi. The friendship will not be on the same level anymore. Because it's not a trivial thing where Naina or the rest of the gang can just forget and move on as if nothing happened. She lied and betrayed all of them and their efforts in this whole GS campaign.

If Munna wasn't giving her the attention the way Sameer gives to Naina, that again is Munna's personality. He is not Sameer.

Also Swathi has also not shown any care for Munna. I agree though that Munna has been rude to her lately and oblivious to her hurting.

What I see happening is Naina telling all that Swathi found the missing votes and getting them to Princi and she will be declared GS. Naina might break down over the turn of events. Su gang will be angry with Swathi and blame her for double Crossing them. Then what happens let's see...

During the Romeo Juliet play, she got the role because Naina withdrew her name but when Naina wanted to do that role again, Swati never backed off. She completely refused to leave the play even if Naina was her best friend.

She always commented on Naina on her looks... "Yeh muh aur masoor ki daal" and also laughed at Naina when they were discussing about Sameer and clearly told Naina that Sameer cannot fall for a simple girl like her. She always thought she is the best girl for sameer. And during many episodes she had given back to Kamya as she was also interested in Sameer. Even if it looked she is helping Naina but somewhere Swati was also doing it for herself as she was also jealous of other girls showing interest in Sameer.

Naina didn't want to share her feelings about Sameer with anyone as it was one sided and also she was sure that if she shares anything with Swati she will be ridiculed. Because Swati would immediately make fun of her looks and high hopes. This is my thoughts. It happens in one sided crush or love... We don't share with anyone with the fear of being laughed at. She wanted to tell Preeti only after coming back from Mount Abu as she hoped that in mount Abu Sameer would also accept his love for her. She wanted to be sure of the relationship.

After the bet phase Swati supported Naina very well. But I feel it was only because of Preeti and her efforts that Naina realised her love for Sameer. We never saw Swati telling anything to Naina to forgive Sameer or about his love for her.

During Delhi track, Swati was with Naina but her strength was Preeti and Mundit. Also during manhoosiyat track Preeti never even once felt that Sameer doesn't love Naina. But there was a scene where Swati tells Naina that Sameer must have changed looking at the Delhi girls. Boys change very easily. She always wanted Naina to believe that Sameer has forgotten her. It was only because of Naina's own rock like faith on Sameer and her love that she survived that phase. And also because of Preeti at her side.

I think it was always in her subconscious mind that how can a simple padkahu girl like Naina have a great boyfriend like Sameer. And all those pent up hard feelings came out with little encouragement from Sunaina. If a person is slightly hurt or angry then she may do a mistake once.. like sharing one or two information. But not a full fledged crime like tampering the ballot box, hiding the chits, telling white lies to the authority and then again trying to destroy the evidence!! This requires lots of guts and real motive to do!

After all this how will the girls behave with each other I am not sure. But can Naina really trust her? And what about Preeti? How will she react? Really this time we need proper closure. CVs can't just rush and close this track like other tracks. But don't have much expectations from them.

The way you pointed out and CVs had shown in the beginning itself Swa had passed comments on N's looks? Was it so preplanned by CVs to show true colors of Swa in course of time? Frankly I haven't expected it.

These are sad turn of events and she is not grey colored but a dark colored vamp now, how come? Can't digest it.

I feel there is end to SwaMun too, he had infatuation and she agreed only to show N that even she can have a BF like her. Sad!
