sorry for long post😊

Hey Guys!

I am a girl living in this "beautiful" country named India ! I am currently a teenager and watching Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai because it was something which came on TV after very long time and is so interesting and relatable as I,am going through the same phase in my life. I could relate to Naina very much since the beginning and now she is in college, still I can connect to her till a point!

Recently, Naina broke up with Sameer. Oh, Don't leave the topic thinking this is a lame topic to justify Naina/Sameer's actions! This topic is not to justify. It's to make some people understand the phase and emotions the lads are going through right now. To make some people understand who are elder than me but cannot even think above the level of a 15 year old.

The point where Naina thinks she should break up with Sameer was that point when she felt if she go far with this relationship, she might lose her father. But that was not the peak point. The peak point was when, her Chachaji invested so much trust in Naina, that she and Preeti will never break the family's trust or put them to shame.

I will never say, loving someone can put the family to shame. Again, there the era is 90. The Agrawals are a middle class typical Indian Orthodox family like any other. Arjun & Shefali were just attending a wedding together and it was charted as a big sin. In any case if Naina & Sameer was caught like that, it might be a big shame for Agrawals in the society, or that's what Naina go far with this relationship, she might lose her father. But that was not the peak point. The peak point was when, her Chachaji invested so much trust in Naina, that she and Preeti will never break the family's trust or put them to shame.

Arjun, her own brother, her own brother betrayed his lover or Naina's best friend Shefali in front of the whole family! He acted like a spineless one. No matter whatever we think, but Naina is Arjun's brother, both share a bond. Shefali's words of wisdom to Naina was the last nail in the coffin! Naina thought if such a situation was faced by her and Sameer, If Sameer was asked to speak up, he will surely accept their relation and declare their love, but what about her?

How can she accept their relation? If she accepts it infront of the world,
a) Her Chachaji will feel betrayed
b) Agrawals will be ashamed

And if she do not breakup with Sameer and continue the relation, one day or the other she will be forced to declare their love infront of all! And she thinks she is not strong enough and she might break Sameer's heart and leave him to humiliation one day! So she did it, to avoid further damages!

It was not because she was selfish! It was because she was scared! Really scared. Till that incident she was living in a happy bubble, She never thought of the family or society. For her it was her Sameer & her. But Taiji repeating Agrawal's don't even marry Maheshwaris, Rakesh's suicide drama and Chachaji's inevitable trust on her pushed her into a cliff of fright.

So saving her love of life from further damage, that was the only thing a 18 year old little girl could do! We cannot expect great maturity from a fellow teenager, who just cannot understand the seriousness or the thinking of the society!

Coming to Sameer, he is also a fellow teenager who was broken with this sudden declaration by Naina. So as a typical teenager, he went on copying songs and movies and upto becoming a baba until he saw Naina getting married off to someone else, which put him into a rage. And the next thing that young boy could think is show Naina he is fine without her and can move on! For that he chose Sunaina!

We can't blame him! We can not! That young boy don't know through what Naina went through or Naina did it to save him from further damage or that's what his little lovergirl could do! We cannot blame both!

Still Sameer continued to care her! :) Love love!

When Naina approached him for friendship he understood whatever he do, he can never stop loving or avoid Naina. So he apologized to Sunaina when Sunaina played wise but thought dumb Sameer will come back to her! Naina and Sameer promised to be friends forever!

For Naina that was just being good with Sameer as she did not had any hope to continue her studies or to marry someone she loved. She was trying to get ready to adjust and Marry Sharad and being good to Sameer to keep the memories worth memorizing. But for Sameer it was a chance to bring back her.

So when he heard Naina broke her wedding, He thought she did it for him, which is why Munna did not want him to know it. It was really wrong of him to jump and propose her thinking she did it. He should have remembered the sole problem is still their which is FAMILY.But still we cannot blame or bash him cause, he is a lil boy, not so matured, flow of emotions, over excitement!

Naina rejecting it? I cannot see anything wrong. Because she was very clear from the beginning, she just want friendship to make their relationship memorable! She never stated she broke her wedding for Sameer and his love. And her rejecting the relationship can never be wrong because no one has ever gone through what she had damn it!

Chacha ji's trust, Sameer's love, Her life, Her education, Her marriage everything is on stake now and how can you some people just expect her to be very mature or so brave to accept Sameer and their love story infront of everyone! Just spare her people!

Naina's love and his life is on stake now for Sameer. And we can never expect him to think very rationally now thinking why he broke the marriage! So he is not wrong!

Chachaji is really upset about his ladli Naina because he never thought she would hide it from him. The thing is she hid it from him , that hurt him. But as soon as he find his knack he will come back and will be the wise person of wisdom!

And to some people who said Naina deserve a person like Sharad who showers her abuses and slaps and cheap words and actions, Just CLAPS! BOLD CLAPS! And if you are a woman then salute!

I get surprised how Indian women often promote physical and mental abuse by man when they themselves are the person who need to face it! Just think from Naina's side. That little girl got humiliated and manhandled infront of the whole college and has been said she will be forced to see that Sharad's face in a very cheap manner. They are not even married yet, and he was showing his power by manhandling her! Nor Naina, but no girl deserves it! Just put yourself in place of Naina and learn to THINK.

As spectators it will be easy for us to judge them and support our favourites and bash the others! But here in this situation either Naina nor Sameer is correct or wrong! This is just a phase in their love story!

But really the comments I read on this forum made me bow thinking how women itself is promoting and enjoying oppression! Our country always promotes manhandling of woman, for God's sake this is a country were marital rape is legal so I cannot expect much high thinking from everyone but I also see some people who are very wisely identifying the emotions and situation!

If you guys felt I am talking above my age, then I am not sorry cause this is my thinking level I can't really help it! Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings!

This was just my POV!

Love,

-Sujz!

I thought to became a silent reader but ur post really moved me to comment. I can surely say without seeing you that being 15 year old girl ur highly matured than 40+ crossed aunties who became mothers for kids but still r not grown up from brain n wishing for naina what ever bad then can .

In this forum I read some person stating naina deserves these slaps n husband like sharad for leaving Sameer. What these ppl will do if their daughter is in same situation

Today after reading many comments I understood that fault is not in era or gender but it is about upbringing. Being women if they wishing naina's bad at this stage then I'm really scared what type of upbringing they giving to boy kids. These women r just like Sharad mom

Thanks for this beautiful post Sujz. This post shows ur maturity n upbringing 👏

A beautiful post explaining not only both sameer n naina sides bt also what is the core issue which led to the breakup of a relationship.. Every episode is so engaging n I am so much invested in the show n the characters I end up taking someone's or others side even after knowing the whole scenario happening around samaina bt when I tone down I get one thing very clear that whatever we are watching in our show is practically a reality for some or other person in real.. That what makes me a proud viewer of the show.. Indeed you are very sorted teenager we hardly get such sorted teenagers. .Kudos to you n your vision ..
