How much you love your brother's child / sister's child, how much you care for them, love them or give all of your heart for their upbringing; when the ultimate decision about the child's future life comes- you don't have any right over them! You can't say that she/he is your own, like your own child! You can't say that you care for his/her future as you care for you own child!

The father comes in the scene to show his right over the child, however far detached he may be from his child, however insensitive he may be to the child, the last word comes from him only!

Anand and Bela loved and cared for Naina all through the years, but for the ultimate decision of her marriage Naina's father's decision was the final one. Anand or Bela's opinion was least cared!

This harsh reality of life was there in un dino and prevails still in... in dino!!

Absolutely true Laizu. My heart goes out for Anand and Bela by seeing their helplessness. They took care of Naina like their own kid but when the time came for a decision for her marriage they don't have any voice. This is as if pushing someone so dear to them off cliff knowingly, but they can't do anything to save that person.

Exactly Laizu. The child was nurtured as their own, was loved and cared as their own, loved them as his/her parents but when the decision about the future was to be made, a father who never ever had anything to do with the upbringing of the kid comes into picture. He becomes the almighty and everyone has to adhere to it. How could he who does not have any emotional attachment sense the turmoil, the helplessness and the agony in the kid.
A father is the one who loves, who teaches values, is a role model and guide. But for Naina it was all her chachaji. Her heart broke on seeing him helpless and his heart broke on seeing her future getting shattered right in front of him and he was incapable of protecting her.

My heart writhed in pain on seeing chacha-chachi fighting hard and promising to get her married with all the pomp show as they did for their daughter. All they cared for was her studies, her future, her dreams.

The hug between Naina and chachaji was symbolic of this serene relationship. Family is just not about being father or mother but it is about those people who stand by you when you need the most.

Very rightly said. Rakesh always cared about arjun and was least bothered about what was going on in naina's life. He even forgot about naina's 18th birthday. He took naina as a 'jhanjhat' rather than his own daughter.

Bela and anand who always treated naina as their own daughter. They even loved naina more than preeti and beared all her expenses since they had no right over naina when it came to her marriage. I really hated tauji taiji and rakesh in yesterday's episode as they thought naina as a 'jhanjhat' jo jitni jaldi khatam ho jaaye unke liye utna accha hoga. What if bela and anand were younger to them they had more right on naina and her life than the other three

That is what I remembered when watched the scene.
Many days ago my boro chacha also said this to me.
I felt the truth of those words more deeply yesterday.

You said right, our show is showing realistic things beautifully.👏

Thanks Seema, Isha, Ishika, Manisha, Ani for all your detailed comments. Sorry could not reply you all well individually. I am glad to see you all agree with it and feel the issue.
I want so that someday chachaji can stand up for Naina and Sameer and in real life also all such relations do get recognition of world.

So so so true... This happens in real life too. More so now than before in fact. It was really heart wrenching to see chachaji's helplessness, disappointment, concern and love for Naina. He nailed all that expressions!!
