Hi Nivi.
Yaar I have different views on today's epi league se hatke.
I am fine with the episode and track. Not a type of episode we can watch in a loop but it's important for character growth.I have already prepared my mind for that hence it was not difficult for me.

Liked how Naina remembered Sam dialogue, other day it was vice versa. They are truly becoming each other's strength.
Dance dream sequence was worth watching and all Sam scenes were beautifully directed and performed. Randeep once again nailed it.Ashi is a graceful dancer.

The way he was trying to hide and still trying to get every moment of her was pure love, he wanted to let her go for her own benefit ( in his twisted mental state) trying to behave courageous but failing miserably, was portrayed well.

I will try to explain the need of this track.
For that we have to go back to Mt.Abu poem.

Log bas dekhte hain meri yeh hansi
Jiske paas ro sakun aisa koi aas paas nahi!
Waqt beet jaata hai yunhi aate jaate
Ghar pe intezar karne wala mera koi khaas nahi!
Ek main hun aur ek yeh chaand
Hum dono jaisa is sansaar me koi udaas nahi!

The Sameer Maheshwari, we were shown carefree, swagwala was one side of a coin.Other side is so emotional, deep very deep.I guess except Nanu no one ever tried to fill his emotional void.
Mundit did to some extent, but to some extent only, and considering how friendship between boys work, they did their part perfectly.

But what about two important ladies in his life? Vishakha always judged him on face value, he got her love when he showed his talent. What if he was not as talented as he is? She never tried to understand what goes through his mind when she was doing PDA to other two kids? She looked and ignored it.The heart to heart conversation between mother- son, mainly Sam took initiative and she responded.I want to see it other way around now.

Second Naina, she also never tried to understand inner turmoil of Sam.Hamein ek doosre ki taaqat banna hai, true, but hamein ek doosre ke andar jhaank ke bhi dekhna hai, right Naina?
Naina being simple char, Sam knows everything about her but Sam is layered character. Here I disagree with writers. This emotional immaturity is not related to age factor. You can be 15 year old emotional mature and 45 yr old emotional immature.I will buy emotional thing here, he is emotional person and needs healing from inside.

What am I looking forward now?
I want both Vishakha and Naina try to understand his emotional void and his innermost thoughts with little bit hints he will be giving on their face.I hope CVs handle this track, execution is most important here.

And it is going to be like this only atleast for a week or two. (Hopefully not more than that).we should take it or leave it.Going to Chinese restaurant and ordering Italian dish and then ranting for not getting it,will be injurious to our health only.

YOu know the sad thing is the SRk many of us had fallen in love with in the 90s is lost. In the last 10 years he has done some ridiculous movies. No head no tail. I so yearn to see movies like Kabhi Haan kabhi Naa, Yes Boss, DDLJ, KKHH, etc...that sweet boy next door is lost...I had loved Swadesh even though it was flop. But now I just skip his movies.

Though I am not liking the way things are progressing in the show but I do agree with you.

A relationship can not always sustain on happy and cheesy talks. Naina is always in her dream world (Dreaming about your love is not bad, pr use alawa bhi duniya hoti hai). There were two instances when she had a premonition that there is something wrong with Sameer, still not even once she asked Sameer how is he managing in Delhi.?She has a fair idea about his step family dynamics (and if she doesn't, then what is the point of a 1.5 years old relationship), still she never asked him how his family in Delhi have been treating him. She takes promises from him asking him not to get angry, but never once she asked as to why is he getting angry every other day? She asks him not to loose courage but why doesn't she ask him why is he losing himself at the first place?

Same goes for Sameer. Why doesn't he share things with Naina? Okay forget about the unlucky jaap, why hasn't he told her about dadi, mom, somani uncle? Dadi is still not good to him, she has been planning and plotting to get rid of him since forever now. Why doesn't he share? Ye sab bhi chodho, why didn't they discuss about Nanu and the events after his death?

I know Sameer is accustomed to living alone. His Mount Abu poem aptly describes his situation. But that was past. He has Naina in his life now. Why didn't he even once try to share his fears and pain with Naina? Ek bar to try kr skta tha na?

Sameer is wrong in running away from Naina. If he thinks he is unlucky, he can tell her directly that he doesn't want to talk to her. He can not just keep her waiting.

Relationships are based on trust. Only love can not keep your relationship alive. You ought to trust your partner, you ought to tell him/her what all has been going in your mind. Lately, I haven't even been able to relate to their letters and phone calls. All they do is say some romantic lines aur baat khatam. Theek hai romance zaruri hai life me, pr 1.5 years ho gaye tmhe sath rhte hue. Kab thodi realistic baatein kroge? Naina ko dreams ke alawa kuch nahi dikhta aur Sameer ko kuch share krna hi nahi hota.

I still can't get over the conversation they had during debate preparation and in Mount Abu. Such a Bliss it was to see them both share their deepest feelings with each other.❤️Aisi baatein ab kyu nahi ho skti?

And what to say about Vishakha. I know she has started taking care of Sameer but in my opinion, praising your son once in a blue moon doesn't make you a mother. She is still not giving the care and attention Sameer needs at this time. She very well knows his situation in the house, she knows he has still not gotten over his Nanu's death yet she has no idea what her son has been doing all these months? How difficult is it for a mother to realise that behind the happy face, her kid is hiding his pain. If she can recognise his voice on radio being a maa, she surely can understand his pain as well.

Sorry for the ranting, but I am not happy, what can I do😆

Nivi - thank you for the post..😊

Caps are so dreamy..

Coming to the epi - I liked it. It is interesting how writers are focussing on the state of mind as the new villain and the emotional maturity that is yet to set in. D's evil words have done their task, I am waiting to see how a 18yr old is going address this very sad state he is in. 😲

When S happily started off on his bike to meet Naina, thought that he will overcome the seeds of doubts sown in his mind by D. Unfortunately, N twisting her ankle and Kumud's bitter words seem to have reinforced his fears.😭 it is tragic that he he made the promise -- when one is in such a state, you cannot expect the person to think logically - what would be the consequences of my thoughts and deeds - Sameer was in that exact situation

Naina's imagination- dance was well choreographed, 👍🏼 keeping in mind that Naina has trained in dancing and Sam does not know even a bit of dancing. If they had given him complicated steps, that would have been unconvincing.

Ashi and Randeep were truly good in showing contrasting emotions before, during, and after the dance,👏 alternating between being unhappy and so joyful -forgetting the world and being with themselves.

Was feeling terrible to see S purposely hiding himself. Huh.. the demons of the mind, if they take possession are extremely difficult to drive away.

It will be an interesting track to watch on how he is going to fight his innermost fears... Is it with the help of his loved ones that he is going to fight these demons and how he is going to handle them.

Would love Vishakha to rise upto the occassion and discover what her son is going through at the moment. When Naina's efforts to talk to S fail, will Preeti chip in and call the somani household and says she wants to speak with her jijaji. Rohan takes the phone??

Naina - poor soul 😭- she will not take things lying down. for a girl who with steely determination learnt dance, performed on stage and won the trophy.. she will face the fight of her life bravely..

maybe because I haven't watched the film jab tak or have seen any E maiyyas soaps, find the treatment of characters and tracks different..😳

Hi Nivi... thanks for the post. Thanks for having the motivation to write one. 👏 Sorry, this has become more of my reading of Sameer... Today's episode to me was more like a chain of events... it was action packed, episode was tense, but everyone's acting was good, especially Randeep. 👏 More than the episode this is a commentary on Sameer.

these days, sometimes I'm unable to write a post, not because I didn't like an episode or parts of an episode, but because the emotional abuse I see a 17/18 year old going through is quite disturbing... anyways I started writing a response in Minu's thread and realized I typed what I wanted to write over here in that thread... so forgive me, but I'm going to paste it here as well.

Sameer Maheswari is complex... I think we need to accept this as a basic fact... and it naturally goes without saying that anyone who gets involved with him will not have it easy...she will have to face a lot to understand him, and help him overcome his weakness... but she will have to face this because otherwise she cannot have a happy life with him... so she needs to be strong... she has to support him until he gain enough confidence to become emotionally self sufficient...

His background and upbringing have resulted in creating his persona... it was well described when he narrated that poetry in Mt. Abu...

Log bus dekhte hain meri yeh hasi
Jiske paas ro sakoon aisa koi aas paas nahin
Waqt beet jata hai yuh hi aate jaate
Ghar par intezar karne wala mera koi khas nahin
Main akela hoon, yeh chaand bhi akela hai
Hun dono jaise iss sansaar mein udaas koin nahin...

That in essence is who he is... someone who is adept at most times to hide his inner self very well... long, lonely years in hostels has made his use this as a self protection tool... now when he is badly hurt, for a short while that cover gets blown and almost every time he is left bleeding... that whole exercise we witnessed as he tried to get the letter is a physical manifestation of that... he was hurt, he still got to the letter but was unable to read it on time... result was he was bleeding and exposed to more hurt...

That outside persona makes him appear confident, over confident even, but deep down he is a lost soul always searching for that one loving gesture, one kind word, one validation... so many a times he lacks faith in himself and loses sight of his true worth... He tends to latch on and find emotional anchor in anyone who looks beyond that persona and loves him... aka his hostel friends. But I guess he has moved so much that he has never sustained even those friends, always losing touch, always losing them... So in his current emotionally distraught condition heightened due to Vishaka's illness, he is unable to overcome his fear of losing another loved one... of being alone all over again...

Inspite of his good looks and money, he has always been put down wherever he went, and until now it included his own parents... with great difficulty he managed to gain some confidence in his abilities when he regained Naina's love, and some credibility in PVKM when he helped win the match... also when he procured a job with his talents in Delhi... all this is a start but years of conditioning otherwise, being told he's unworthy, will not be shaken off so quickly... that issue of self worth is so much that he prefers to help other win, but rarely competes in anything... even during the headboy competition, Somani was right in saying he lacked that fighting spirit... he always second guessed himself and his capabilities... he even asked his mother if she won't consider him as her son if he didnlt win...

I think he is simply incapable of dealing with emotional stress yet, especially when he has no one to talk to... and since he has spent most of his life being alone, by nature he is not quick to open up to anyone, not even Naina. Till date he has hidden all his problems in Delhi from her and has bottled it up. But he has absorbed her problems as well, and has given her a lot of strength and advice...

In all these months with his mother, I don't think he has shared much about himself. Even the other day he was leaving for the interview, and if Vishaka was not sitting outside he would have just gone without informing.

So being a loner, and not having faced many tough situations, except for his post bet phase where he was guided by Nanu and aided by Mundit, his mind shuts down and he loses all rational thought... remember he even spent a whole night in front of Naina's house without really having a plan? That's him... impulsive and not mature enough to think things through. That's what I'm hoping he will learn now... to face emotionally tough situations and still be able to make the right choice without losing his willpower or strength or rational thinking.

When he first came to school today, he was eager to meet Naina... but she fell. And then he heard Kumud, who specifically mentioned how she was repeating history... one Maheswari was a reason for her disqualification a year back... so naturally he feels another Maheswari, especially one who was unworthy should not become another reason for her disqualification... disqualification, loss, death... all similar and all intermingled in his mind. In spite of trying many times, he was unable to go before her... because of daadi's words and Kumud's rant he assumed he was Naina's biggest enemy... so he must protect her from himself? So she can become successful... he can see he is hurting her, but in his mind she will atleast be alive? I know... its as convoluted and as illogical as it can get!

I'm hoping Vishaka will be alright, and start noticing his withdrawal... almost depression if you will... he needs to break down to her first... confess how he's scared of losing people, how he thinks everyone will leave him... I feel she needs to understand what psychological damage her years of neglect and callous abandonment has done to her son... the other day when he cried when she praised him for the first time, she took it lightly... she should have read that as a sign of deep hurt for him... I hope now she will see... She badly needs to spend quality time with him... and start undoing the damage she has caused...

We saw a glimpse of his turmoil in Mt. Abu, just after Vishaka failed to recognize him... but that time things took a different turn, and his insecurity got lost... at that time Vishaka herself told him he was incapable of loving aanyone... has al allergy to love... Hope now she reverses her statement, since she has seen his capacity to love... hope she accepts she was wrong, and starts correcting herself, so he will start healing...

Saathiya, eh tune kya kiya... Itna karo naa intezaar... She says Maine kiya hai tumse pyaar... that's what this is about... he thinks he is not worth waiting for, or spending her life with... but she needs to assure him that he is all that she wants, she will not leave him and together they will achieve all their dreams... For that she needs to uncover what is going on... hope she gets some background from Mundit now... and also from Amrita... Naina has to get creative now, because Sameer will not talk to her...For sometime, she will have to keep at it, one sided, keep assuring of her love and that she will always be with him...when he completely believes it, he will become a new person... confident, strong and an achiever... he will become SJM.

Your post is lovely Nivi...But I'm horribly disappointed with the episode...there are so many flaws, so many blunders and completely senseless scenes...The only saving grace for me were the songs (though not all)...and some good acting and dance by Randeep-Ashi and also Sam's VO...
Who dances on Paanchva mausam pyaar ka in school competition...kaunsa modern competition hai yeh bai...Pyaar ke mausam discuss hote hai jahan...NAAN-SENSE...Chal kya raha hai episode mein...the track is not the issue for me here...I had somehow expected at some point that during this judaai thing, things won't remain always that strong between them and so this judaai based on immaturity and manipulation is fine..I can take it...they are following the typical sacrifice wala track of Saajan and many other 90s movies...a common theme in many 90s movies...just the reason here for sacrifice is different than in movie Saajan ...But the execution, editing, maximum dialogues added later, stretched scenes of Kumud-Naina, Taiji-Rickshawala... and the Chhupan Chhupai crossing all limits of stupidity is the problem...What was that Taiji sneezing scene...Kumud's rant though few points were right in it but it seemed misplaced...who talks all this on stage...That rant was solely for the purpose of instigating negative feelings in Sam's mind...NAAN-SENSE AGAIN...Dadi's voice was echoing so hauntingly in the episode that I might even hear it in my sleep today...Oh and Sameer THE FLASH Maheshwari seems to be an infrasonic creature (able to to hear voice below 20 Hertz)...I can go on and on ranting the flaws of today's episode...I'm sorry for this negativity...would stop now...I hope we get something sensible this week...even if it is Sameer distancing himself from Naina but please CVs show something sensibly...and not people sneezing and hiding...
RIP Logic, RIP dance Competition, RIP Human ear audible skills, RIP Semi-classical dance, RIP Sneezing, RIP Chhupan chhupai...

Bold - you cracked me up. Hilarious !

Agree - utter stupidity at the moment. Nothing makes sense and events/ situations are being forced into the story, throwing realism (once upon a time their strong point) and characterisation for a toss. Number of bloopers shows that they are taking the audience for granted.

I start each show with such hope and it goes so well upto a point but ultimately I realise that none of these shows are made for an intelligent audience.
