Mundit bearing the brunt of his actions is like a big punishment for sameer... Had he himself got caught instead of Mundit, he may not feel the same way... His guilt will increase thinking that his best friends had to go through all this because of him... This will make him extra cautious and he will take every steps carefully... He will careful while befriending people... As he knows his actions can hurt his loved ones which now includes his mother.

As for shanti teacher matter, i am glad that naina herself found a solution... She herself did save the day for shanti teacher... I am happy to see this naina who is ready to own up her actions... She managed to save both herself and shanti teacher by using her brains in the right direction.
