Hi dear! So finally caught up with the chapter.Pretty interesting enough to make me already demand the next chapter ASAP like a bhukkad 😆 You have really a good grip over the story and dialogues.Loved how you incorporated a bit of suspense in it.That keeps me intrigued.Naina's temper was well elucidated and was completely relatable. The pressures on a girl to get married to an andekha, anjaana when she is in love with tambaku sevi despo lover is bound to result in Runaway Marriage. 😉 😆 Munna's gyan bowled me and I bet if Munna had not been head over heels with his frock wala Pandit I would have married him definitely 😃 So much maturity 👏 Pandit as usual with jaanleva ideas.Thank god he was juvenile back then 😆 Loved it all in all.Kudos to your writing.Update soon and plz PM me 😃

Chapter 2

" Yaar, ek baar aur dikha na Sameer! " A frustrated Pandit demanded, after failing for the fifth time in the act that he was trying to pull off.

" Kya dikhau? "

" Arre wohi.. wo jo hawa me gol gol banata he na tu, dhue se! "

" Whirls.. usse whirls kehte he! " Sameer stated as he took the cigarette from Pandit and inhaled a long puff. He then pouted his lips and exhaled artistically, causing perfectly circular whirls of silver smoke to rise up and become visible under the street lamp, against the darkness of the night.

" Sameer tu mastt he yaar! " Munna complemented his cousin cum best friend.

" Woh toh he.. waise hum aaj iss jagah pe kyu aaye? Law Garden ke paas kyu nahi? " Pandit questioned.

" Last time jab hum Law Garden gaye the, woh topper Naina bhi thi waha pure parivaar ke saath..aur Behenji ne dekh bhi liya tha mujhe aur Munna ko! " Sameer said with a disgust on his face.

" Haa.. Aur agli baar toh wo maniben hume principal se nahi bachayegi pakka! " Munna added.

" Excuse me young men! Lighter doge? "

Munna, Pandit and Sameer instantly turned around as they heard a familiar voice from few feet away. They saw a tall, well built man, dressed in a pair of jeans and a jacket walking towards them. As the figure approached them, he retracted the hood of the jacket from his head.

One look at his face and the young boys got the shock of their lives.

" NANAJIII !! " The trio screamed in unison.

" Tum log?? yahaa?" The elderly, good looking man responded, equally surprised.

" Nanu aap..Aap yaha kya kar rahe ho, wo bhi mera jacket pehenke! " An utterly shocked Sameer Maheshwari asked.

" Pehle tum bataoge .. kal subah school jaana he phir bhi itni raat ko yaha kyu khade ho teeno? Ekk minute.. Sameer?? Tu cigarette pita he? Aur ye Rahu Ketu bhi ?Tum logo ko pata nahi he kya cigarette peene se cancer hota he? " Nanaji rebuked.

" Woh..hum... Sorry Nanaji" Munna said scratching his head. " Ekk minute.. Magar aap bhi toh humse lighter maang rahe the Nanaji! "

" Chup kar! Tujhe badon se baat karne ki tameez nahi he kya?Bata du teri mummy ko? " Nanu shouted, instantly silencing Munna.

" Nanu..Nanu ye sab kya he? " Sameer did not have the slightest clue of what was going on.

" Hum toh bass.. bus ka intezaar kar rahe he! " he replied.

" Bus? kaunsi bus? Aur ye 'hum' kaun? " Sameer interrogated impatiently.

Munna and Pandit could only silently watch on as the well known industrialist Jayprakash Maheshwari and his grandson got engaged in the conversation.

" Arre hum dono! " Nanaji beckoned to someone, and a young woman dressed in a grand, mirror-embellished orange saree with green border, came into view. The saree's pallu served as a Ghunghat' hiding her face fully.

" Ye kaun he Nanu? "

" Arre duffer, ye tere Nani he.. Hum yaha se bhaag rahe he na?! " The senior Maheshwari replied.

" KYAA?? KYUUU??... Matlab why! " Sameer almost fainted in shock.

" Arre Iske gharwalo ko hamare rishte ke baare me pata chal gaya.. Aur iskeliye koi doosra rishta bhi pakka kar diya.. ab bhaagu nahi to kya karu? Iski shaadi pe jaake nachu?

" Par Nanu ...ye theek nahi he na.. Log kya kahenge.. Mummy aur wo Somani mujhse puchenge! Kya jawab dunga me? "

" Arre Vishakha aur uske pati ko toh me dekh lunga! Tu ghar jaaa.. Dekho hamari bus aa rahi he! Bye! " Nanaji took the woman's hand in his and slowly ran towards the bus that had just halted few meters away.

" Par Naanu... Rukiye aap... Nanu.. " Sameer pleaded.

" Bye Sameer, bye Rahu Ketu! " Nanaji waved as he disappeared into the bus.

Sameer attempted to run after him, but stamped on his own shoe laces and toppled over. He, at any cost had to stop his grandparents from this heinous act, but his 'feather-light' body felt unusually heavy and he just could not get up from the ground.

" Nanu... Nanaji... Mat jayie.. Nanu...Nanu.. "

Sameer tried harder to get up, but failed again.

He kept calling out.. He kept screaming..

***

" Sameer, Sameer " Munna screamed in the middle of the night and shook his friend hard.

Having no choice left, Pandit sprinkled a palmful of water on to a hysteric Sameer's face, making the latter open his eyes and spring up in bed.

" Nanaji bhag gaye yaar.. Naani ko lekar! " Sameer panted.

" Kya bol raha he tu! Kaisa sapna dekh liya! "

Sameer looked around like a clueless kitten, until he spotted his hooded red jacket, hanging from a wall hook. He felt a little relieved and without waiting for his frantic breathing to be normal, grabbed the jug of water from Pandit's hands. Sameer choked and spilled as he tried to gulp it all in one go, but managed to drink enough water to feel 'back in reality' again.

" Ab bataa! " Munna said.

Sameer told his friends of how his crazy brain had cooked a khichdi using his friends, their habit of smoking , his ever favourite Nanu and Nanu's beloved Nani, her special saree, and his upcoming elopement as ingredients.

" Pata nahi kya dekh liya maine..past present future.. yaar... kahi me Naina ke saath bhag kar galti toh nahi kar raha? Agar ye koi indication he to! "

" Haan he na indikesan, magar achhi wali! " Munna said with a wink.

" Matlab? " Sameer asked.

" Arre phir se Chenu samajh gaya aur tu nahi! Dekh Sameer... Tujhe hamesha se ye baat khatakti thi na? Ki agar Nanu hote toh kya wo tujhe bhagne dete? Aaj wo khud tere sapne me aake samjhaye.. ki pyaar ke liye bhagna galat nahi he! Unhone tujhe upar se ishara diya he Sameer.. Isse tu green signal samajh le! " Pandit enlightened his friend.

Sameer looked at Munna who nodded in agreement.

" Haan.. Shayad tum log sahi bol rahe ho yaar! After all, me apne Nana-Nani ki love story hi jee rha hu.. Naina ke saath, nineties me! " Sameer smiled shaking his head.

" Ye hui na baat! Abb so jaa, kal bohot kaam he na? " Munna said.

" Nahi yaar.. Tum log so jaao.. meri neend toh udd gayi! " Sameer replied.

" Aur mera acha khaasa sapna bhi!" A sad Pandit added quickly, making Sameer and Munna turn.

" Konsa sapna? "

" Wo.. Tina ke saath, haathon me haath dalke ... romantic angreji film dekh raha tha.. Yaar Sameer tu thodi der baad chillata toh ab tak mera pehla kiss bhi ho gaya hota! "

" Tina? Ab ye nayi wali kaun he? " A confused Munna asked.

" Pata nahi.. Aaj raat sapne me hi mili thi pehli baar .. badi mast lag rahi thi mini skirt me! " Pandit smiled coyly.

" Ponga tu...chhodo .. Tu so jaa chup chaap.. Aur Sameer tujhe neend nahi aa raha he toh Naina ke certificates aur bag wagera ekk baar aur check kar le! "

Four Months Ago :

Naina twisted and turned in her bed, unable to sleep. It has been three days since the call with Sameer, and Naina still was in a confused state of mind. She did not know whom to blame; her boyfriend for having made a joke of a serious thing like elopement, or herself for having taken his playful words seriously. Either way, what is undisputeable is that Naina was broken.

She felt as if the last log of wood she could hold on to in the stormy waters too, was slipping away from her hand, and she would drown any moment!

The following day, afternoon :

" Namaste Chachiji ! " Shefali's sweet feminine voice filled the Aggarwal's living room.

" Arre Shefali, andar aao! Kya baat he? " Bela welcomed the young girl.

" Wo Chachiji, aap zara Naina aur Preeti ko mere saath bhejenge? Aaj raat me wapas Bangalore jaa rahi hu! Mujhe bohot saari packing karni he..Par kal se mere exams bhi shuru honewale he toh bohot saari padhai bhi baki he.. toh agar aap unn dono ko saath bhejenge toh.. zyada time waste nahi hoga! "

" Bhagwan jhoot na bulaye beta iss chhoti si baat ke liye itna tension mat lo! Naina jarur chalegi tumhare saath.. Par Preeti dawai khake andar so rahi he.. Iss mahine bhi pet me dard bohot zor se ho raha he usse! " Chachiji spoke worriedly.

Bela Chachi soon called out to Naina and asked her to join Shefali. However, the girls, while on their way to the stairs were stopped and interrogated by Taiji, who was about to leave her home. Evidently dissatisfied with the answer given by the girls, she pulled Bela to a side and whispered.

" O Baii..Bela, Naina ko Shefali k ghar akele bhej rahi he tu? Agar wo waha se uss ladke ko phone ki toh? "

" Bhabhiji aap itne aage ki kyu soch rahi he? Wo bass paecking me madad karne jaa rahi he! "

" Aage peeche kuchh nahi.. tu jaanti nahi he ki aajkal ki ladkiya kya kya kar sakti he.. Isiliye bass.., tu bhi jaa uske saath! Mujhe baazar jaana he! "

" Bhabhiji magar Preeti! Wo andar akeli he aur tabiyat bhi theek nahi he uski.. "

" Usse kuch nahi hoga.. woh toh so rahi he na, Tu jaa ab! "

Forced to oblige, Bela Chachi joined the girls half mindedly. However, as soon as Taiji left, Chachi took leave to attend to her sick daughter, much to Shefali's relief.

" Kya pack karna he bol! " Naina said as they entered the house. Shefali did not answer. Instead, she held Naina's hand and went into her room.

Naina's heart missed a beat as she saw the back of tall, slender man dressed in a navy blue polo T shirt and jeans, standing by the window. He turned around and at the sight of him, Naina felt numb to move even a muscle. She was seeing that face after so many months.

" Dekho.. me tumhari situation samajh sakti hu par please jo bhi baat karni he 15-20 minutes me khatam kar lo ok?.. Shaam ko mujhe airport jaana he aur mummy kabhi bhi office se aa sakti he.. toh.." Shefali pleaded, and he nodded with a smile.

After Shefali exited the room closing the door behind her, the man took slow steps towards Naina who was still standing frozen to the spot. Eyes welled up, and tongue tied.

" Aise hi khadi rahogi kya? " he asked as his lips and stubbled cheek curved into a smile.

Naina could not hold it any further. Like a little child that was reuniting with its mother, she ran into him.

As Naina Aggarwal and Sameer Maheshwari shared the second hug of their five year long relationship, tears of saudade flowed down from her eyes..onto to her cheeks..onto his chest.

Sameer too let his tears escape, as his arms enveloped her petite frame, his palm caressed her long silky hair and his body gave her the warmth and assurance that she badly needed.

Sameer knew that he could stay like this for a lifetime, but he had an important task for the day. Half mindedly, he broke away, wiped Naina's tears off and made her sit on the bed. As he too sat down facing her, he did not fail to notice how Naina had quickly placed a cushion on her lap and withdrawn her right hand under it.

" Naina.. I'm really sorry! " Sameer said in a hurt voice.

" Kyun? " she asked in a shaky voice.

" Woh uss din phone pe..wo bhaagne waali baat.. "

" Koi baat nahi Sameer.. Tum usko seriously mat lo.. Me bhi bhul jaungi! " Naina promised him, trying to hide her sadness.

" Achha? Bhul jaoge? Agar tum uss baat ko bhul jaoge na.. toh me yaad dilaunga tumhe! " Sameer spoke in a deep, meaningful voice.

" Mat.. Matlab? " Naina quivered.

" Matlab ye, ki me sach me tumhe yaha se leke jaaunga Naina! "

Naina felt shocked, happy and confused at the same time.

" Lekin..achanak se tum ye kyu bol rahe ho Sameer! Kya hua?"

Sameer moved closer, pulled Naina's hand out from under the cushion, held it firm and stroked his fingers gently over the contusion on the inside of her delicate palm. Sameer felt infuriated as he imagined how hard the blow must have been, that the bruise has still not vanished. He knew that she had many more such marks on her body. Without saying a word, he kept staring at it.

" Tumne.. dekh liya? " asked a guilty Naina.

" Me sirf pyaar me andha hu Naina.. Sach me nahi! "

Naina did not have an answer to his powerful words.

" Itna sab kuchh ho gaya, aur tumne mujhe batana zaruri bhi nahi samjha.." Sameer sighed.

" Chhodo... listen Naina, hum yaha se jaa rahe he..It's final.. Magar abhi nahi.. Kuch mahine baad.. maine bohot soch samajhkar ek detailed plan banaya he.. Munna Pandit ke saath..aur wo plan successful hone keliye hume bohot kuchh karna padega.. "

Naina listened patiently, as he pulled out a letter from his pocket and handed it to her. Seeing the thickness, she gauged that it must be of four to five pages minimum.

" Sab kuchh batane keliye time nahi he! Isiliye likh diya.. Achhe se padhna ok? "

Naina smiled wide and nodded her head like like a little girl. Sameer found her too cute to resist, and instinctively pulled her cheeks.

" Mujhe laga ki tu depression me bhuki rahi hogi.. Par tu toh ab bhi moti he! " He teased her.

" Moti?? Mai?? Tum bohot suke hue or duble ho, iska matlab ye nahi ki me moti hu haan.. Meri figure bohot achhi he! " Naina chided making Sameer laugh.

" Thik he baba tum moti nhi ho! Aur kabhi patla hona bhi mat.. Mujhe sabse zyada maza tumhare gaal kheenchne me hi aata he! " Sameer's words made Naina blush effusively.

How much had he missed his bundle of cuteness, and her heartwarming blush!

" Aur haan.. Kal ko agar mai kahi behosh hoke gir gaya toh, tumko hi uthana padega mujhe ! Isiliye achhe se khaate peete raho " Sameer added and this time, received a smack from her in return.

" Ab chalo.. Ghar jaa Naina! "

" Abhi? Thodi der aur rukte he na.." Naina whined.

" No Naina.. Hamare friends bohot madad karte he hum dono ki.. isiliye hume bhi unkeliye sochna he! Hum yaha aur rukenge, toh Shefali ko pareshani ho jayegi faltu me! "

Though disappointed, Naina felt really proud of her 'Yaaron Ka Yaar! '

" By the way tum yaha aaye kaise ? " Naina asked, as she got up to leave.

" Har sawal ka jawab nahi milega tumhe! " he winked. " Aur haa.. letter ache se padho, aur agar koi doubt he toh, jaise tum padhai me karti ho na, theek waise colour pen se underline karo! "

Sameer managed to dodge the flying pillow in time.

He had to master that art anyway, for a safe, healthy and sound future!

***

Present Day, The D-Day

" Naina.. Hall ticket, paani, pen sab kuchh rakh diya na? " Chachiji enquired, as she emerged from the kitchen with the customary Bowl of Good Luck in her hand.

Naina tried hard not to cry as her mother like Chachi fed her a spoonful of Dahi-Shakkar. Bela Chechi was a quintessence of the fact that selfless love is not defined by blood. Naina touched her feet, using the Public Service Examination as an excuse to seek blessings. She had found one or the other way to unknowingly say bye to all the members of her house; even her Taiji, who had made her life hell.

" Ab chale beta? Der ho rahi he! Hume Swati ko bhi pick karna he na raste mein?" Anand Chacha reminded Naina.

" Haa Chachaji! " Naina picked her bag up and walked towards the door, where Preeti was waiting. Since they had to maintain normalcy in front of the family, they had already shared their bone-crushing parting hugs and sloppy kisses in their bedroom earlier that day.

As they settled for a quick hug and a usual bye at the door, Naina felt her heart break into a million pieces or more. How long will she have to wait before her soul sister and she met again?

" Ye aap mujhe de dijiye Chachaji, me pakadti hun! " Naina offered to carry her Uncle's office bag and folders and he readily accepted.

Churning like the rough sea inside, and calm and composed on the outside, Naina Aggarwal took one long look at what has been her home for the past two decades!

As soon as Naina got into the car and disappeared from sight, Preeti ran into the bathroom and let out the ocean of tears she had been holding to herself since the last day.

If God played music in the background for real life situations too, the soulful song from Hare Rama Hare Krishna would have started playing already.

" Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka, Sabka Kehna Hai

Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behnaa Hai "

***

" Beta acche se likhna exam. Okay? All the best! " Chachaji wished Naina as she embraced him. He was genuinely happy that Naina was finally getting to take a step towards building her career, after a long time of being restricted and tied down.

" Aur Swati, tum bhi bohot achha karoge! " Anand smiled.

" Ji Chachaji! " Swati answered with a warm smile.

" Tumhare Papa aayenge na exam ke baad? Tum dono ko lene keliye? " Chachaji asked Swati.

" Ji.. Exam khatam hone ke 10 mins pehle hi aa jaayenge wo.. Aap tension mat lijiye Chachaji... Naina ko sahi salaamat ghar pahuncha denge! " assured the ever enthusiastic Swati.

With a satisfied smile, Naina's younger paternal uncle drove away to work, not knowing what his daughter-like niece was actually upto!

Swati mustered all the courage she had and consoled Naina, who had by then broken down and started weeping hard on her shoulder.

If not for Mr. Anand Aggarwal, his love, his principles, and his wisdom, Naina Aggarwal would not have been the Naina that Sameer Maheshwari deeply loved, respected and admired today!

***

Since the girls had more than an hour in hand before the exam started, they decided to sit down under a huge Pipal tree for a chat. The premises of the school in Juhapura, which was the centre for the examination, reminded Swati and Naina of their days at Pragati Vidya ka Mandir.

" Kitne acche din de the na Swati! Kitne khush aur tension free the hum " Naina turned nostalgic.

" Bilkul ! " Swati agreed. She then opened her bag, produced a packet from it and handed it to her friend.

" Ye le Naina! Kaash me tujhe iss me dekh paati! "

Sameer and Naina's runaway plan was known to four people in the world apart from themselves- Munna, Pandit, Swati and Preeti. They all had roles to play, however Sameer in particular had made sure that no trouble shall befall, or no case of suspicion shall arise upon their friends, especially Swati and Preeti.

" Yaar.. Mujhe vishwas hi nahi ho raha he Naina.. Ki teri shaadi me, mai nahi aa rahi ! "

" Mujhe bhi... Tu na, jaldi Munna se shaadi kar aur Bombay aaja! Me tere bina bhi nahi reh sakti! "

" Chal jhuti.. Shaadi ke baad tu aur Sameer bas honeymoon ke mood me honge.. Mujhe toh yaad bhi nahi karegi tu! "

" Jaa naa Swati! " Naina protested, albeit shyly.

***

" Naina..Me bohot, bohot miss karungi tujhe.. Par mai phone karti rahungi, thik he? "

" Haa Swati! "

" Aur tu gharwalon ki chinta mat kar! Me aur Preeti sab kuchh sambhal lenge! "

The girls shared a tight hug before the start of the examination. Swati could cry buckets at the moment, but Preeti and Swati had made a pact among themselves that neither of them would cry in front of Naina; they knew how precious they were to Naina, and that their tears could even make Naina reconsider her decision.

Wishing each other goodbye and good luck, and promising each other to meet as soon as possible, the best friends of Fifteen Long Years dispersed to their respective exam halls.

The moment Naina saw the question paper, she knew that she could crack it easily. But today wasn't a day she could afford to prove her academic excellence.

Exams come every year. But the chance to live the life she desires, does not!

As soon as the clock struck One-thirty, Naina got up and handed her answer sheet to a surprised invigilator. Undoubtedly the first to finish the exam, Naina got out of the hall, and picking up her bag and the packet that Swati had given her, she walked through the empty, silent corridors in search of the washroom.

***

Munna impatiently paced up and down under a shady tree, in the less crowded corner of Gitamandir bus terminus. Biting the nails and wiping beads of sweat off forehead, Munna definitely appeared more nervous than Sameer who was simply munching on his second packet of roasted peanuts.

" Yaar Sameer tu bhi kamaal ka he ! Sipayi abhi tak nahi aayi he, teri bus waha khadi he, aur tu yaha thoos thoos ke mungfali khaa raha he! "

" Abbe aur kya karu? Yaha beech sadak pe gir ke ro toh nahi sakta na?? Aur waise bhi, aadha ghanta baki he abhi bhi.. So relax! " Sameer answered, popping few more nuts into his mouth.

The Sameer-Munna-Pandit trio had to wait another five minutes before the bus from Juhapura pulled into the terminus.

" Yahi hoga pakka ! " Munna jumped up in excitement, and started singing 'Parde me Rahne Do'.

As the bus came to a halt few metres away and the passengers began to get down, the three young men became alert to spot their 'Burkha Clad Subject '.

" Yaar ab ye kya he...Ahmedabad ki saare ladkiya aaj hi bhaag rahi he kya?? " A bewildered Pandit asked after seeing at least twelve women wearing Burkha get down from the bus.

" Bus Juhapura se aayi he Pandit! " Sameer reminded that the bus has came from a locality densely populated by Muslims

" Woh toh theek he, pas issme hamari bhabhi konsi he!? " Pandit enquired further.

" Abhi pata lagata hu mai... Oo Nainaarii...Kaha..." before Munna could finish calling out, Sameer sealed his mouth with his palm.

" Munna marvayega tu! Chup kar! " Sameer whispered.

The confused Sameer then casually walked around and scanned the women secretly, to shortlist the possible 'Nainas', from the look-alike lot.

His heart came to a sudden halt, upon hearing one of them cough twice. He turned around in excitement. She, coughed twice again.

" Pongaa.. Baj gayi double ghanti...yahi he yahi he yahi he! " Munna whispered merrily.

Standing aloof but not far from the rest, covered head to toe in a traditional Burkha, and nervously fiddling with the tassels of a large handbag, was Sameer Maheshwari's soon-to-be bride!

Without attracting the others attention, Sameer crossed her and managed to catch a glimpse her eyes through the only opening in her veil.

Khubsurat Naina ke khubsurat Naina!

He soon joined his friends and gathering the luggage, moved towards the bus that was to take them to Valsad, a stop a the Gujarat-Maharashtra border from where they were to board another one to Bombay.

Sameer and Pandit have been working in Bombay for the past three months already, and it was known to everyone who knew them as well. Hence, technically it was only Naina who was 'eloping' that day. As per the plan, Sameer was to just continue his usual life of working in Bombay, and visiting Ahmedabad once in a while.

Although Sameer has always hated categorising people based on social strata, the huge difference in Naina's and his backgrounds was now turning out be to be a Trump Card for them.

Behind the disappearance of a 'random, typical girl from a middle class family', the people of Ahmedabad would never imagine any involvement by the scion of the much-known, wealthy Maheshwari clan. And in this fact, in this very fact, lied Sameer and Naina's safety!

" Chal ab bus me chad jao! Naina ke gharwalon ka haal me Swati se pata kar lunga! " Munna told his friends, as he helped with luggage that also included Naina's belongings.

" Munna, tu pohonch jaayega na shaadi ke pehle? " Sameer asked him.

" Haa zarur.. Mere bina tu shaadi kaise karega waise?? Pohonch jaaunga teen din me! " Munna promised as he hugged his friends.

As Munna said bye to all including his honewali bhabhi, Sameer turned around to Naina and coughed twice, signalling her to follow them and board the bus to their happy future.

He waited at the door to let Naina in first, and also to take a closer look at her face. The Hijab did cover her lips, but the twinkle in her eyes told him that she was smiling.

Smiling wide, in his love!

****

It was night by the time they boarded the second, and final bus of their trip to Bombay, after dinner at Valsad.

Seeing Naina seated alone by the window of a three- seater, Sameer's heart yearned to pounce on to the empty next to her. However, they had a rule of 'Behave like Strangers' to adhere to, through out the journey. Hence halfheartedly, Pandit and he settled in the seat right behind her. And very soon, the empty seats were filled.

But, they say 'Where there is a will, there is way!'

" Papa mujhe aap dono ke saath baithni he! " whined little girl, who along with her mother had just taken the empty seas beside Naina.

The strong 'Will'-ed Sameer, had already found his 'Way' !

" Aapko hamare yaha baithne se koi problem nahi he na, Behenji? " Stressing the last word mischievously, Sameer asked Naina after Pandit and he made a 'Qurbani' of their seats to the little girl's family.

" Nahi! Koi takleelf nahi! " Naina said, gritting the teeth under her veil.

As Sameer got seated, Naina stomped his foot hard, making him wince in pain.

" Behenji kaun? " She whispered angrily.

" Tu hi! Be-hen-ji! " He winked, inviting another stomp. His obsession for the word was immortal.

While the cold night breeze lulled Pandit to sleep instantly, it was slowly transporting Naina into another world. It had been an eventful day for her. All through the day, her mind and body had been engrossed in executing The Plan. She had been so preoccupied with the thoughts of what she had left behind and what was awaiting her, that she hardly realized how many times she had run her fingers over her scalp and scratched it.

The knoonkhar villains had a safe first day!

The night was turning out to be even more happening, with the man of her life in such close proximity. Naina badly wished to rest her head against his arm, and wound her arm around it too.
